Refurbishment soft opening

My first trip to Disneyland will be the beginning of May! The Matterhorn Bobsled is scheduled for a refurbishment to be completed on May 15 and Soarin on May 14. My last day in the park is the 13th. Do attractions at Disneyland ever have soft openings or open before schedule at Disneyland?

They do, but you can't count on it. I thought both were scheduled for refurb through May 15. I would not expect a soft opening more than a day ahead of time. And it wouldn't be the whole day either, it's often just a few hours in the evening.

Sometimes they do, but with all this Anniversary business it may not happen. I would count on it being closed but walk by on your last day just in case

An attraction can have a soft opening, but it is not something you can count on. They are not announced and it is a matter of being near the attraction at the right moment because sometimes it will be for only a short period of time. If you see CMs letting guests in or in the case of the Matterhorn you hear/see riders on the bobsleds, check at the ride entrance.
