Refurbishing OKW?

Perhaps I'm having a senior moment. My wife claims that I told her about plans to refurbish rooms at OKW. I don't remember the conversation. Was it in a recent DVC mailing? Does anyone know anything about this? Is there a schedule that DVC members have access to regarding all DVC resorts? It would be nice to know when there will be construction or other activity which could be noisy or interfere in some way. We would definitely take it into consideration before reserving a room. Comments?

Yes, OKW is TOTALLY refurbishing rooms. We came back from a trip about a month ago, and entire sections were being worked on at a time. I had a recently refurbished room and almost everything was new in the room. I think you could ask at check in, or make it a request, that you don't want to be near any of the refurbishment construction.

I know a lot of the work has been completed. I am not sure how much they have left to do or how much longer they will be working on it.

We were at OKW 2 weeks ago. We were in building 35 which had been refurbished. While we were there they were working on buildings 49-52 on South Point Road. By the time that we left it appeared that they were nearly finished with those buildings.
Our one bedroom unit had all new kitchen appliances, new upholstery in the living room and bedroom, new pots and pans (to fit the new glass top stove), new drapes and it had been freshly painted. They had also changed the VCR to a DVD player. Just DVD not a combination.

We're staying at OKW for the first time in May. I'm looking forward to it and the refurbishment sounds great.
