Refurbished rooms at BWV and beach club

Someone posted on another thread that they were there and they are currently working on the fifth floor standard view. He walked by and the rooms he saw were gutted to the floors.

We have a studio pool/garden view and a 1BR standard view booked for the 1st week of August. Now I wonder if we should relocate?

I know there were very few complaints posted during the VWL refurb and they crammed that all into a months time. Personally I'm not going to worry about it and we have BWV booked during May. If there is noise during the day it won't bother us but I'm not expecting to hear much if anything.

We are also booked for May, in a 2 bed standard and a studio standard for my sis, I don't mind the construction at all as long as it isn't happening in my room while I am sleeping. I could sleep through a nuclear bomb! Lol. Hope we get an updated room, that would be awesome. Looking forward to see pics!

I'm interested to see if they come up with a better design for that 5th bed at BWV and BCV than they did at VWL. I like the bed but hate the either/or issue with the table/bed.
Also note, at VWL, they replaced the small fridge/freezer combo with one that's fridge only. My son has the largest issue with this as most things he stores in the fridge requires a freezer compartment (microwave meals) and I have to plan those in-room meals around what I can no longer store. Hope they don't carry that mistake through to the other resorts.

We use the freezer mostly to freeze water bottles to take to parks. I would be very unhappy losing this option.

I wonder what people who need to refreeze gel packs to keep medicine cold while they travel do. I can't think on this too much... it comes down to a silly move just to save a few dollars per room.

im sorry i am just coming into this thread- i didnt realize BCV was going through a refurb this year...are all the rooms getting redone? 1BR included? And when is the rumor BCV will be completed by?

I'm one of those people who've done similar. I have a herniated disc, and spend every evening with a frozen gel pack (kept in the freezer during the day) on my back. I'm not at all happy about this, and don't understand why they removed freezers. If it's a money thing, I'd rather have other things removed-like some of the mailings.

Since you have a medical need for a freezer and up until now those rooms have had a small freezer compartment, I think it would be reasonable for you to request a mini fridge with a freezer. They ought to keep a few in the back to swap out for such needs. I suggest you write Member services and see what they have to say.

If MS doesn't have an answer for you, contact the housekeeping manager to request a mini-fridge with freezer. I once had to request a new bed at VWL (the bed was very lopsided.) I twice called and asked housekeeping for a replacement, or anything to help and got no reply. When the Housekeeping manager happened by my door to check on something different in the room I mentioned the bed and she personally oversaw it's replacement. A brand new mattress was delivered within 2 hours. I'm sure they have a warehouse on site with extras and it wouldn't surprise me if they could help you out.

That's what I saw too though the view was of the Luna park pool and whatever is opposite them (I guess that is standard view). Basically the units to the right when you exit the elevators.

Are any BW view studios being refurbed? We will be there in 3 weeks and have a BW view studio and was wondering about the construction area

I was there the last week of January and they had just started the work. I'm thinking they'll move down the right hallway before starting on units down the left hallway which is where the BW views are but that's just my best guess.

The worker told me they're done by around 5. We were in the room taking an afternoon nap but if you plan to be gone all day it shouldn't affect you.
