Has anyone bought a refurbished game console before. I was thinking about the game cube from ebgames.

Yes, we got the kids a refurbed PS1 a number of years ago (we're always a few years behind the times technologically speaking). Never had any problems with it. I think it was from EB Games. The kids have also gotten used games there before too, although they aren't refurbished or anything. The kids would much rather get something like that then none at all b/c there is no way we can afford the cost of a new system. The games also tend to be a bit less expensive when there are newer versions/systems out.

All of ours have been refurbished consoles and most of our games are used.
If they have a money back guarentee, nothing to lose right?

I know when we have sold old consoles and Game Boys to Funcoland/Game Stop or EB Games that they always checked to make sure they worked without any problems before handing over the cash/store credit.

We made a nice chuck of change selling our Game Cube at Game Stop. It was a brand new in box machine (won in contest) that we didn't need. They had an offer for extra $25 trade in. DH had a blast buying tons of games this past summer without anything out of pocket. :thumbsup2

oh yeah - We have a refurbished Game Cube from GameStop. I think we paid less than $100 and it came with a game. Great deal.

We buy almost all our Video Games used from there. Every once in awhile something comes along that we HAVE to buy right away, but mostly we wait until we can get it used from Gamestop or off of EBAY.

I bought a refurbished (pre-played) PS2 at EBGames(same company). I had to return it. It kept freezing up about 5 minutes into a game.

I've bought truly refurbished items from other companies (Sony, Black & Decker) and not had a problem.

When I talked to the guys at EBGames, they said the most they do is plug it in and if it powers up they resell it.

I exchanged for a brand new PS2.

I got DS13 a refurbished PS2 last year and he still has it and it plays just fine..

We bought our son a refurbished/used gamecube from gamestop last yr. It works fine. Only problem is the thing that keeps the door shut sticks. We set the black box thing that's on the power cord on top of the system to keep the door shut if it won't stay shut on it's own. Works great.

My ds has saved up and purchased several game consoles from EBGames/GameStop. No problems here. There is a guarentee with the system so you should feel safe giving it a try. My DH always goes along and asks to see the available systems and then they pick the one that looks 'the best'. You could avoid a door sticking problem that way.

I was looking into a refurbished PS2 how much are they going for at places like GAME STOP?

Gamestop.com shows refurbished PS2 systems are $109, but they also have a couple of "bundles" online with a reburbished PS2 and a used game (Kingdom Hearts is one choice) for $99.

A brand new PS2 now sells for $129.00 and a new Gamecube for $99.00. I'd go with the new.
Where can I get a new PS2? My local Wal-Mart doesn't carry them anymore and I am not really up on places to buy game systems.

great...thank you so much!!!!
Does anyone know how long they take to ship? I would like to purchase next week. I love to shop online ...this year I discovered the points and cash back with rewards sites.
