Refurb schedule....Accurate for April?

Hey,

We are going for the first time to DL from April 15-23. I just checked the schedule of events for April on the DL web site. It says there is no daytime parade and Canal boats, Casey train, Jungle Cruise, Space Mtn are scheduled to be closed for the week. Does anyone know if these things are very accurate this far out? My kids will be crushed with no parade, canal boats or Space Mtn...

Sorry to crush your kids, but I believe the schedule is accurate. I know Space Mtn. will be closed until at least July, probably later. It has been closed for over a year now. I think the floats from the afternoon parade have already been shipped to Hong Kong Disneyland, and they're not planning on debuting another parade until after the 50th celebration begins.

As for the other 2 attractions those might change in time for your trip. By canal boats do you mean Storybookland, the Davy Crocket Canoes or the sailing ship Columbia and the Riverboat? I don't have any solid information on any of those.

I'm pretty sure it's accurate. Everything is getting a last minute clean up to get ready for the May 5th 50th anniversary kick off.

There is no parade but they do have what they call Mickey's Shining Star Cavalcade. The characters either walk or ride the Main Street vehicles down the parade route, but no floats.

You aren't missing anything with the train/canal boats being down! My D thought they were pretty lame. We missed out on Small World, Splash Mtn, DL Railroad, Haunted Mansion, Tiki Birds and several others that shut down because of the rain! So really just missing 2 very minor attractions is not bad. Jungle cruise was cute - but something we only did once - once was enough! haha.
