Refunds on AKL reservation question.

We have 8 nights booked at AKL in September and my 45 day cut off for paying the balance is fast approaching. I booked a couple of extra days to just be "hanging out at the lodge days". None of the other resorts interest me enough to want to have a couple of extra days just to hang out there. So, if I get the call to relocate can I decrease the number of days on my reservation without penalty after the 45 day mark?

I am not sure if you can but if Disney makes the demand to move you, it should offer the right to decrease your stay without penalty... I too love AKL and have scheduled time to spend at the Lodge even though I will be staying at BC this visit. IMHO hanging out at the BC, YC or BWI is even more interesting than the AKL because of the marina, incredible pool, and the boardwalk....

Unless they have changed policy the penalty is only incurred if you decrease the $ amount of your package before arrival.
Once there it should be no problem to check out a few days earlier if desired. Just give them 24 hours or more notice at the front desk. Normally any funds remaining from unspent nights would be applied to the package balance with any resulting credit/overpayment refunded to your credit card upon departure.

It's easy enough to double check though by calling the front desk and asking if there would be a penalty if your plans change after check-in and you check out earlier. The specific term you're looking for is "early departure fee".
