Refunding to multiple gift cards

My family is currently booked for a 5 night this Oct. I am considering canceling - I have a compromised immune system and am not sure I will feel comfortable with cursing by then. I have paid for the majority of our cruise with gift cards. I usually buy at a least $250 at a time to get $1 off gas. So the ~$3,000 I’ve paid so far could have been on 12 gift cards, maybe more. I don’t throw them away, but I also don’t document which ones I used. I have a drawer full of Disney gift cards from previous trips.

Does anyone have experience with refunding to gift cards? Can they combine or will it be placed on the individual cards? Are they able to tell you the gift card numbers refunded?
Thank you!

The refunds go back on the method of payment used. If you paid with twelve $250 gift cards, those gift cards will have the value put back on them. A few people have reported that if you have lost your old gift cards that DCL will issue new gift cards.

If you still have the cards buy aren't sure which will get a refund you can just go to www.disneygiftcard.com and put the card and security numbers in to check the balance of each after the refund is processed.

OP - are you familiar with https://disneygiftcard.com/? You can add up to 5 gift cards to your account and manage the balances on them. You can have up to $1000 on each card.

I started using this site after committing the n00b offense of walking up to guest services with a 2 inch stack of $50 cards early in our sailings. The guest next to me clued me in! Now I have one or two cards that I consolidate all my Disney funds to prior to sailing.

You can always ask for gift card funds to be placed on a new card. I've had virtual gift cards issued before too, where they email you the card information. That wasn't with the cruise line, so I can't speak for their procedures.

It sounds like in your case the issue is you are not sure which cards you used on this trip and it'd be time consuming to figure it out. So I would recommend you request they issue new $1,000 gift cards instead of refunding to the original ones.

I too use gift cards. After I use one I use a sharpie and mark the front of the card with the date of the cruise and total. Helps a ton!
