Refund on Shore Excursions Due to Bad Weather?

My family is sailing on the Magic at the end of April. We have been researching the shore excursions, mainly the sighseeing ones.

After looking at the Disney Cruise website, it appears that they can cancel an excursion due to bad weather. I am assuming the bad weather policy is for severe storms. If it is just raining, do they refund your money for the excursions? I really don't want to tour the islands in the rain, even if it is drizzling.

No, rain does not cancel most excursions. We went through a pounding rainstorm on the Champagne Catamaran Sail from St. Thomas to St. John. It was sunny when we left but we hit the bad weather on the way over.

If the ship can't dock at the port for some reason you would get your money back, but it would have to be very bad weather for most excursions to be cancelled.

WE had a beach day planned in Nassau. It was pouring rain when we docked and all shore excursions were cancelled. We were given a full refund.

We were on the St. Martin Regatta race in the 2/23rd sailing. They decided to cancel the excursion due to lack of wind. As we were deciding what else to do---maybe catching the excursion with another cruise ship later in the day if there were spots, the wind picked up. Only half the group was left so we ended up in a race with 2 other boats from another cruise line. It was kinda slow but we had fun.

To answer your question, the excursion host said that once we left the ship, the excursion was non-refundable. That may be the difference. Disney worked with those of the group who didn't want to go and tried to get them on other excursions some of which were walking off the gangway as we were deciding. This was the only excursion we wanted to go on and the kids were already settled in bed, so we were prepared to go even if we had to blow the sails up.
