refund help/questions

I bought 5 adult park hopper tickets January 2020 for our March trip. We are out of state and we dont want to come back until everything is back to normal. Actually my kids now would prefer a trip somewhere else. We have decided to go on a different type of vacation this summer. Not a theme park. Just a beach adventure. I would love to use the money from disney to help pay for our new trip.
I have called twice since march 2020 and Disney has said no to refunds. I have contacted Last Minute Travel Club, where I bought the tickets from and they said I had to contact Disney. I even called my credit card to ask to dispute the charges and they said no because Disney's website says no refunds.
I saw on here Disney was now giving refunds. The Chat isn't available, I emailed twice with no response and I'm currently on hold and the wait time is over 2 hours.
Is it even possible to get a refund? Will Disney refund the money if I bought them from LMTC? Disney has over $1600 of mine I haven't been able to use for over a year.
 
When I called for a different ticket problem I waited for about 3 hours before I got to talk to someone. The CM I talked to offered to refund my tickets but that wasn't what I was trying to do. Basically I bought kids tickets instead of adult tickets and just wanted to pay the difference to get adult tickets without losing my reservation (at the time there were no more openings for the days I am going). The CM said I could cancel my reservation and she could refund my tickets and then I buy new adult tickets but then I would have lost my reservation days and would have had to find different days to go which wouldn't work for me. Then she offered to have me speak to a supervisor who might be able to help with my specific issue but when she put me on hold she must have hit the wrong button because the call ended.

So mine was a different situation but it seems they can refund tickets. At least in some situations. So the answer is "maybe" they can for you now but I cant say for sure. You will have to wait on hold and talk to them is my guess. Chat on the app took 24 hours to get a response to my question and they had a solution that works for me, and email too over a week and wasn't helpful.

Thank you for your response. I will keep waiting on hold. That is good they offered you a refund. They were holding strong to no refunds most of the year.
I have no idea how buying from a 3rd party works for refunds. Hopefully I will get good news
 
after waiting for an hour and a half my phone dropped the call. I called back and they have closed the phone lines due to high volume of calls. Maybe this is a sign we need to keep our tickets and go in a few years.
 

You can open a chat on the app, and they usually respond in about 24 hours. I know, not the best.... But when they do, maybe they can help you.

Are you sure? I just tried it and while a pop up did say that due to high volume it’s taking up to 48 hours to respond, when I close that, it allows me to type a message. You may want to try again.

Although I will warn you that while they may be able to answer your question about getting the refund, they won’t be able to do the refund and will tell you to call. So in the end it may be worth trying to call again. If you have the time, try a little later this afternoon or early in the morning. All of my call have been 2-3 hrs on hold before getting through, so I understand your frustration with that!

I hope you get it figured out! I have 2 adult 5 day park hoppers. I called in January 2021 to get a refund. I was so annoyed by everything that I thought I was selling my GCV points and never going back to Disneyland...I was wrong :) She said they would refund them and it would take 2 billing cycles to get my refund. Well, nothing so far. No big deal, but we have another trip booked for October and I don't know if I have valid tickets or not. I tried to link them and it recognized our names, but they wouldn't link. If I'm getting a refund and I need to buy new tickets, it would be nice to know. If the tickets I have are valid, it would be nice to know. I've tried calling several times and I can't even get in line for a 3 hour wait! Maybe I will try the chat. Good luck to you!
 
I did get on the chat. It was the chat online that was disabled but I got on the app. I checked it after 24 hours and it says my issue has been resolved but no response or anything. I sent another chat and I’m blocking tomorrow off for just waiting on hold. I’m going to call the minute they open.
DaleFan- I would be very frustrated! I hope you can get some answers. I’m hoping to get through faster if I call right when they open.
