How cold do the refrigerators keep items? I will need to keep insulin in there and am unsure if it will be cold enough.

Disney doesn't recommend the beverage coolers in the rooms be relied upon for medical supplies. If you make your request ahead of time, an actual fridge will be brought to your room for this purpose. Call DCL and have them make a note on your reservation.

They are actually beverage coolers. And some work better than others. I have never had one that will make a can of soda cold overnight, but if you put the soda in there already cold it will keep it cold, if that makes sense.... We didn't really use ours because they never really worked that well.:(

This is actually a topic of much debate on the Dis Boards. As Favorite Auntie mentioned, it seems that some people have had difficulties with the cooling units in their rooms. Others have not.

In four cruises I have never had a problem with the in-room cooling units. We always pack 6-8 cans of Coke in one of our carry-ons just to have some soda in the stateroom for the cruise. We always place this in the fridge right after we get to our room and by the next morning it has always been cold.

On our cruise in May I plan on taking an appliance thermometer to measure just how cold these units get!
