Can you rent refrigerators for your room and if so does anyone know the costs? Thanks.

They do rent them but I recall it was being considered to install them in all the rooms. They used to be $15 a day.

We were at RPR for three days the first week of July. We asked for a refrigerator at checkin and they told us no problem but there would be a charge of either $10 or $15 a night. I think it was $10. Anyway when we got up to our room we got a call saying they had no refrigerators available. I said that was OK. We took a couple of things out of the minibar and fit a couple of our bottles of water and such in there. But the next day when we came back from the parks there was a refrigerator in our room.

Does anyone know, if they've added them to the rooms at HRH yet? That would be awesome! :teeth:

Just there last week, no fridges in the room. I'm diabetic and asked for one for my meds and they had one in our room within minutes. They didn't charge me.

We are @ HRH now. My DH & DS are still sleeping, so I'm DISing. :rolleyes1 We called last week, & were told there wasn't a fridge in the rooms. They told my DH it was now $25/ night to rent one. That was a bit of a shock, since they were $15/ night the last time we stayed at RPR. We decided to go a different route.

If you fly, this option wouldn't work for you. If not, it's something to consider. We purchased a Coleman cooler. It can sit upright to be used as a mini fridge. You can plug it in the wall or in the cigarette lighter in your car. Although, it's pretty big for use in a car. We have a mini van & it fit fine. My DH plugged it up to cool off, before we left home. It cools really fast. We have quite a bit of stuff in it. I'm actually surprised at the capacity it will hold. We were able to get it for less than renting a fridge for 4 days. We're staying 5 nights, so it was a no brainer for us. I noticed that it's sold out on the website. We found ours at our local Walmart. If anyone's interest, here's a link to see what it looks like:

Tarheelmjfan, that is pretty nifty! We have a Coleman that plugs into the car and elec. outlet the same way but it's big and bulky. Yours looks much better. I had a terrible time between the fridges at BWI, CR and HRH regulating the temp for my pain-in-the-butt meds which have to be kept between 36 and 46 degrees. What will they think of next?

Have fun! We just left HRH Sat morning and I'm ready to go back.

We have been using one of these for about 4 years now on all of our road trips. It is a great investment.
