We leave for the 2/28 sailing of the Magic and my poor dniece and I have come down with sinus infections! Ugh!!! I dread the thought of getting on an airplane now.

The bigger problem though, is that my niece's medicine needs to be kept in a refrigerator. I thought I remembered reading that the staterooms don't have fridges.

Does anybody know for sure? I'm positive we had one on our last cruise in 2002, but I could be wrong . . . my memory is not quite what it used to be!

If they don't have them, can you special request them? Is there a charge? Thanks!

Hi,
They have little "iceboxes" under the TV in the stateroom, at no charge. My son came with some warm juiceboxes and they not only chilled them, but kept them cold enough to bring on shore for our beach days.

There are small fridges under the TV cabinet. They are big enough and stay cold enough for medicine and anything else you want to put in there. We brought some empty water bottles with us and then went up to deck 9 and filled them with Milk and fruit punch and kept that in the fridge and they stayed very cold. Don't worry about your neices meds they will be just fine.

I would still call the cruise line and let them know you will need a real fridge in the room for medical purposes. The iceboxes that come standard in the room are usually not cold when you first board. Also, I've seen come people complain about how well they work, so it sounds like some aren't as reliable. Definitely call Disney and let them know you have medication that needs to be refrigerated just to be on the safe side.

If needed for medications, they will put a fridge in your cabin. Have your doc fill out the medical form (part of your documents) and you call the cruise line in advance. It will be in the cabin when you board. If you wait to notify them till you check in, you will still get the fridge, but it will take a while to appear.

Let Disney know ahead of time and they will put a real fridge in your room....I have spoken to them about refridgeration for medications, milk and formula and they told me not to use the cooling box in the room for those that they would not keep because they don't get down to a low enough temp...if you need it for medication they will supply you with a real one.

I don't know about the fridges, but I just flew with a sinus infection three weeks ago (unforunately it's back again!!). The Dr advised me to take some Sudafed about 1 hour before take off. This really helped keep my sinus and ear canal open during take off, and if you're flight is longer (mine was 5 hours) take it again before landing. Have a GREAT trip!

anyone know the dimensions of both the icebox and the real fridge???
