Can anyone tell me if the standard rooms at the RPR have mini refrigerators in them? I was told 2 different things. Can you rent them if they don't? The representative at one time told me that they do, but its fully stocked and you must pay for the items in it. I thought that would be expensive. Another representative told me that they don't have them in the rooms. Also, has any body tried making hot chocolate in the coffee maker? I was just curious if that would work. I would greatly appreciate any input.

They have mini-bars in the rooms. You can pay to have the items removed or you can rent your own.

You can make hot chocolate from the Keurig coffee makers by simply putting your own packet of mix into a mug and then using the hot water from the Keurig.

If RPH is like HRH there is a frig that is the mini-bar. The one at the HRH hotel is kept closed by a plastic tie that has to be broken to get in and then they will know you used it. Either way, make sure to check your credit card statements after you get home. We have been charge on two separate occasions for items they said we took out of the mini-bar. Since when we left the room the mini-bars (we had two rooms each time) were still sealed shut. I called the hotel and after having to explain the situation and a few transfers and more explaining each charge was credited to our account but its a pain to have to go through. My guess is that there are random charges put on bills whether by accident or on purpose and I would guess there are numerous people that pay the bill without even checking their charges. We now make sure to have it noted on our account when we check out that the mini-bar is sealed. The total of the two charges was for over $100. Just a word of warning. We now just use ice in one of the sinks to keep water cool and use the coffee maker to heat coffee and water for tea.

I always refuse the use of the mini bar when i check into the hotels.

the TM will ask if you want usage of it and i decline.

that is keep on file.

We were at RPR in June. The mini bar fridge had stuff in it, but there was still room to put other items in (soda, water bottles, etc). We just stuck our own items in along side of the pre-stocked items & made sure the kids knew which items they could take & which items not to touch.

FYI; you CAN purchase hot chocolate k-cups (the things that go into the Keurig machine). Using a packet with just water from the Keurig is fine too. Just wanted you to know that hot cocoa k-cups were available.

If you're able to stop at a grocery store on the way, get a styrofoam cooler. It works great since there's an ice machine at the hotel. Keep it in the bathtub when you're out, though, just in case of leaks.

When we were at RPR last year, the fridge/minibar was locked in a cabinet. If you wanted access, you had to get the key from the front desk. I don't remember if you were charged at that point or for what you ate.

They gave us the key at check in & told us we would only be charged for the items we ate/drank. We didn't eat/drink any of the items & weren't charged anything:).

When we were at RPR last year I did bring a cooler to keep drinks cold(and the bellman was nice enough to ask if we wanted it filled and he did) but he gave us a key to fridge and we just took out a couple of drinks out and put them in one of the drawers and put our stuff in. We did this the last couple of days because we did not want to go and get that much ice. We had no problem with this at all. No charges on our bill either we just put back the drinks before checking out.

I'm sorry but this might be a stupid question. Do you mean the K-cups/hot chocolate is available at the resort? Is it actual cups or do i need to bring our own mugs? We are not coffee drinkers so we're hoping we can do with the hot chocolate. Is it expensive to get the mix at the hotel if they offer it? Once again, sorry for my poor knowledge.
