This is my first post to the DISboards, and I first have to say how helpful and energetic everyone is regarding the Disney experience.

Going for a week in May with family of four (9 & 4 YOs) and we want to do breakfast in our room to save time/money. We haven’t book said room, but we’re looking at either Beach/Yacht or Grand Floridian. Here are my questions regarding refrigerators:

*Do these rooms come with a frig?
*What is the cost of the frig?
*What is the size of the frig? I think in terms of small (tiny mini-bar), medium (Embassy Suites), or large (4 foot tall).

Also planning on packing a box full of frozen lunch meats, yogurts, etc. and hoping they will survive the 12-hour trip from house door to hotel door. Any suggestions or comments regarding this strategy?

I think at allearsnet.com has pictures of rooms, many have detail pictures of rooms including the fridge. From our recent stay at the Port Orleans Riverside we had a "dorm room" size (I think that's what they call it), next size up from those real little ones. It did not cost us anything, was included.

You may get more responses if you post your question on the Disney Resorts board on this site, where questions regarding Disney hotels are asked and usually answered.

I would call them a medium size/dorm size. You should have room for your list. As far as making the trip with all that food, it is do-able. Take a cooler, lots of ice, and don't open it much. I don't think ice packs do as well for long periods of time.

this came from: www.allearsnet.com

The average room at the Yacht Club is 380 sq. ft. Most rooms feature two queen-size beds, a table and chairs, color TV w/remote, a ceiling fan, double sinks in the dressing area, refrigerator, and a mini-bar. Some rooms have a daybed that will accommodate the maximum 5 guests

for more info on other resorts check out their site they have pictures also.

Deluxe rooms come with a dorm size fridge at no charge. I haven't stayed at Embassy Suites in a while but I'm thinking they are probably the same.

As for your frozen lunch meats, etc. as long as they are in a cooler and you don't open it they should be fine for only 12 hours. If you have extra room when done packing fill up the extra space with ice and seal it with duct tape.

We found the fridge at Beach Club to be tiny! It just held four water bottles, a bit of leftover fruitcup, and a can of soda.

There are several grocery delivery services that will delivery grocery to your hotel. One of these services is wegoshop.com. Check out the DVC board for more of them. I will be using this service in November, so I do not have any experience with them but others seem to love it. It cost about $17 for shopping and delivery for orders under $100.

In addition, the hotels sell a limited amount of groceries. We stayed at the BWV and I bought some Eggo Waffles for $3.25 and I did notice they did have Dannon yogurt too. If you stay at the Beach Club they have a market place where you can get these items.
