Refrigerator

There will be 7 of us staying at the Contemporary in 2 rooms in July,(Me,DW,Triplet DD's, and Inlaws. We are planning on renting a refrigerator for our stay. I was wondering what size are the refrigerators.

Tiny cubes, don't expect to get much more than a few sodas, a half gallon of milk, and a leftover sandwich into it.

personally I would purchase an electric cooler and use it instead. Of course if you are flying you might not want to do that. Many here who fly use the soft sided coolers and pack them in their luggage. They seem to keep things pretty cold if you change the ice 1X a day.

Hi Triplet Dad!

I read on another thread about someone who routinely PURCHASES a small refrigerator when down there and then donates it to a charity at the end of their stay. It sounded a little strange to me at first, but when you figure CR charges $12 (?)/night for the fridge, you can see how it adds up - especially if you can use it during your stay at Grande Lakes, too.

I hope you have a great time at the convention! Are you driving or flying?

We are flying. I was thinking it might be cheeper to buy a small refrigerator, but I could not think what to do with it after we are done with it. Your suggestion of donating it to chairity is a good one. Thanks for the idea.

I've read that some give it away or sell it in the parking lot. It is likely that if you just leave it behind (as some in other thread have suggest, to pass it on to another guest) it will become one of the hotels to rent out or be put in lost and found.

What are you planning on putting in the fridge? If it isn't a lot you might want to buy one of the small electric coolers and ship it to the resort and then back home. I keep a small one in my van all of the time. It comes in very handy with kids.

I wish I could find the original thread. I believe the person said that there are charities who will even come to WDW to pick up the item. You might want to call the CR and see if they know of one. Also, another poster said they sold the fridge and microwave (they had bought a microwave, too!) to one of the bell boys!
