We stayed at Port Orleans last Friday prior to moving to OKW on Saturday. The reason I paid the difference over Pop Century was that I knew they had installed refrigerators in the moderates and deluxes some time last year. I like to keep my water bottles really chilled and hubby drinks a lot of soft drinks. I never asked anyone, just expected that the refrigerators would be the same or similar to the ones in the DVC studios. Needless to say the one in our room was basically no better than a big cooler. There was no freezer area at all, no thermostat that I could find and it kept water chilled to lukewarm at its best, even after being left overnight. I was really disappointed as my electric cooler does a better job.

Just one more reason I like my DVC. Little things make a big, big difference.

Does the small fridge in a studio have a small freezer section? I have only stayed in a 2 bedroom villa before which obviously has the big fridge/freezer.
Thanks.

We stayed at POR this summer and I complained to my DH that it wasn't cooling up to par; however that was on the first day when we had loaded it with warm drinks. After the second day, everything cooled nicely and sometimes even would freeze. I did miss having a bigger fridge and my DVC!

Yes, the studio fridges at DVC resorts have the freezer area. We kept frozen breakfast items in ours for our daily "let the kids eat while we get ready" breakfast! Worked out great!

We also recently stayed at POFQ and the first day we were quite disappointed in the fridge and by the 2nd, I had frozen grapes to snack on. lol Luckily, I LIKE frozen grapes! Just seemed to take it a bit to catch up.

We used to stay exclusively at POR before joining DVC. We stayed three times since refrigerators were installed. The first time everything got REALLY cold (ie bottles froze, cans exploded, etc). The second time nothing got cold at all. The third time after the first night when everything was lukewarm we looked inside the fridge and removed the black plug covering the thermostat, turned the thermostat down and voila the next day cold drinks.

We were only there one night, and I only had two bottles of water in there, which should have at least gotten cool from one night to the next morning. I never saw the thermostat. If I had, I would have been a happier camper with frozen water for the next day.
