One of my daughter's midday meds needs to stay refrigerated. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best way to do this if we are at the WDW park? Right now, we are thinking about bringing an icepack. But I'm not sure that is the best idea because of the weather, so I would love to see if anyone has any better ideas. Are there fridges at the park in the care centers?

They will store medication for you in First Aid. There is a first aid station in each park, near the Baby Care center ( they are well marked on the park maps). You just need to remember to pick it up before the park close ( f
First Aid will be open when ever guests are in the park).

You may also want to check with the Pharmacist to check just how cool the medication needs to be kept. Some ( especially kids meds ) are refrigerated more to mask the taste. Others need to kept in the refrigerator for long term storage, but not short term. If it just needs to be kept cool, not cold, you may find a cooler pack by a company called Frio (do a search for that or 'Cooler Concepts' to find it. Those packs are used by people with diabetes to keep their medication cool.

I have the Frio coolers for my insulin. The large pack I have looks like it could hold a medicine bottle. Love the cooler, stays cold all day long.

I will definitely contact my pharmacist about this. She only has one med that needs refrigeration, and she only needs 1 syringe first during the midday (we would be at the hotel for her morning and evening doses).

I like the Frio cooler idea though, not only for this but in general as well. Thanks!

Your Pharmacist will probably be aware of Frio coolers because they are very commonly used by people with diabetes. They are great, but meant to keep things cool, not refrigerator temperature. So whether it will work for your medication or not will depend on whether it needs to be refrigerator temperature at all times.

One thing I do with my Frio Cold Packs is keep them in the refrigerator. That way when I go out it really takes quite a while for them to warm up at all.

I didn't think you were supposed to chill the frio. - however - you can activate them with ice cold water.

They're supposed to keep the temperature of whatever you put in. So if you have unrefrigerated insulin it's supposed to stay at normal temp. If you put in refrigerated insulin it will keep it cold-sh. But it's not meant to keep thinkings fridge cold.
