Refresh my memory: The last election...

Was the 2004 election this, um, passionate? I remember the whole swift boating thing, but I don't recall that emotions were running nearly as high as they are now.

I remember the following (I may be remembering the election before it,but these stuck in my mind)

"Locked Box" (Al Gore) ha ha. Remember how much fun we all had saying that over and over ha ha ha.


"Dangling Chad" My personal Favorite.

But no, if I remember correctly it was mostly amusing (I mean come on, in who's world are the words "dangling chad" not mildly amusing) (Note I said the words, not the implication of the words)

Hee! Yes, the dangling chads. Those discussions were much more fun.

Yup; it was a very divisive election.

I know I wasn't as passionate in 2004 because I didn't think it was humanly possible for anyone to vote for Bush again. That experience taught me a thing or two.

Here on the DISBoards, it was! It was absolutely intolerable, especially for those of us on the losing team! It took a while before I could venture back here. It was pretty nasty.

In my area it was, but I am incredibly close to DC. People at work (and I am talking grown adults in a law office) would take things off of people's cubical walls (HR did allow us to display bumpber stickers and other small signs about our choice canidate as long as they were not offensive, so it was not a manner of us not being allowed to have these things at our desks) and rip them up if they didn't agree with that person's canidate choice.
