Refinishing wood floor on rainy day?

Hi, we are scheduled to have our kitchen floor refinished tomorrow. Well, after a 3 month dry spell, the forecast is now saying ALOT of rain. Does it make a difference in the refinishing? Anyone ever had their floor refinished on a rainy day? It would be an oil finish. Wondering if I should cancel. Thanks!

I assume that this is a wood (oak) floor?. When you say 'oil', I assume you mean an oil-based polyurethane? Has it been sanded and is awaiting the first coat? As long as it's not extremely humid, you should be OK. Do you have A/C? That could reduce humidity.

What does the refinisher say?

Humidity and wetness will cause it to dry MUCH slower.

Wow!!!!! What a coincidence!!! I am having my kitchen floor redone today & it's overcast, sprinkly, humid-ish here. The floor guy said that perhaps once he actually puts the finish on that maybe he'll have me turn the central AC on.

But he is doing it.

Hi, thanks for the responses! I am waiting for the floor guy to call me back. The floor has to be stripped of the tung oil that is on it now and then we need 2 coats of an oil polyurethane. It's wide plank eastern white pine and I am nervous about all the rain we're supposed to get tomorrow and Saturday. Today it's drizzly and overcast, so I could see doing it today, Disdoll, but I'm afraid tomorrow is another story. I feel bad about postponing it , but I think that's what I'm going to do. Hopefully next week, if he's available. Thanks again!

We had our floors refinished back in July. We kept the a/c on, actually our refinishers said "not" to open the windows. But let me tell ya... the odor.. was unbearable.

The sanded and stained one day and then poly'ed the next. We ended up going to a hotel the 2nd night, I couldn't stand it.
