Refinancing mortgage...

So you paid $450 out of pocket plus the additional amounts you listed? Because what you listed amounts to more than $450. Did you pay $450 and then $1164? Thanks for clearing it up for me. I am trying to get a good handle on what I am looking at.:flower3:

I think she paid $450 OOP and the other charges were wrapped up into the loan.

I have WF too, and I called last week about this. There's no "out of pocket" fees. They roll the fees into your new mortgage. That's a HUGE difference, and false advertising on their part.

Rebecca

We did get our fees rolled in to the Mortgage, but still there were no closing costs for us. We are locked in for 4.8% fixed 30. When we bought this house, we did an arm. It has a lower percentage now, but when the arm is up...you know the story. I thought we were in a fixed, but DH said no, it's up in 3 years. It's a little bit of a gamble, but we thought it was worth it and our payments still went down.

The person at WF is Glenn that we go through. I don't know his extention at this moment because DH has it in his Blackberry. I don't know how to work that thing.

For the closing costs, is there certain criteria beyond your credit score that you have to make? They asked DH a series of questions and said he qualified for no closing costs.

11% to 5.5%?

You should be saving more than $225 unless this was a funky mortgage.

In any case, that is GREAT.

Good Job

The loan amount is only $85,000. That's probably why it's not a greater savings. I'm sure if it was higher priced house, the savings would have been a lot more. Thanks! We're happy to be out of that loan!

Yes, she took the $450 over the phone by credit card. All of the other fees were wrapped up into the loan. Like I said though, those are the only fees that aren't specific to our situtaion...taxes, discount, and insurance. If you call Heather, you can tell her that Lisa Stamey sent ya! I've told her more than once over the past few weeks that she's my hero :worship: Hahaha

I'd be more than happy to send you another loan, just give me a great rate! I'm at 5.75 and would LOVE to be below 5% on a "high capital" conforming loan.

You and me both. We were just out today and lowest we could find so far is 5.0. We have close to 30% equity and flawless credit. We'll keep shopping...

I've been trying to get ahold of someone at Wells Fargo since last week Thursday. I've left many messages, and no one has called me back. I gave my cell phone number (got rid of land line over 6 months ago), so my cell is with me 24/7. Not one single person from WF has called me back. I've had people from WF who are answering the phones tell me that someone will be calling me back within 24 hours. And that was over a week ago.

They have the worst customer service!

I'm sorry you are having that experience. Try calling a local office, you may have better luck.

FWIW, I was a customer for about 6 years and had the best customer service experience with them.

This is what I was told by my rep-(J. Cook) the one who would then never call or send info by mail or email- that they would take the $450 by phone by credit card. I gave him my credit card number already as DH and I were positive we were doing the deal. That is until he stopped communicating after that first call. I left him a message requesting an email confirmation that no charges would appear on my credit card since I was going switch to another rep as a result of such shoddy customer service. I said it nicely, but made myself clear it was because of the lack of follow through on his part. I did not say 'shoddy', but that I would be moving forward with someone else.

I feel like I cannot contact Heather until I make sure the other rep and I are clear and done. I WILL tell her she was referred by you (and will use your name if you don't object). People who do their job well should be recognized, I believe. I would love to throw her some business.

Thanks for the help!

You are so welcome! They didn't charge my card until they had received the paperwork back and had the appraisal returned to them. I would suggest calling Heather's extension, let her know what's going on, so she can make the appropriate moves with your paperwork. Please do use my name! It's not a problem at all!
