I know they are pretty much requiring mobile orders to be ready before going into the QS at resorts (exceptions being allergies or not having a smartphone/using cash), but there will likely be times on my upcoming trip where I just want to get my mug filled. Do you just show them the mug and say what you are needing and go to the drink fountain to get your disposable cup?

Where are you staying? We were at Contemporary at New Year's and could walk directly into the Contempo seating area and up to the drink counter where a cast member dispensed our drinks (into paper cups). Same deal at Roaring Fork (Wilderness Lodge).

Poly.

My friend had the mug (we stayed at GF), and she stopped in Gaspy’s whenever she wanted a drink. Just showed them the receipt (I believe there was a QR code on it) each time she went in. No order required. Enjoy!

So,you have to carry a paper receipt around to get your mug filled? That seems ridiculous. Also, is the policy the same that you can still get you mug filled at any resort location.

We stayed at the Poly in November and we just walked right in to Captain Cooks with our mugs to the refill station. They gave us a cup of whatever we wanted. We did haul our mugs around. I heard a picture of the receipt may suffice, but haven’t actually done it.

I did forget my mug one time and realized it when I was picking up a mobile order. The CM who was working the drinks recognized me (we had chatted a couple times she helped me earlier in the stay), so gave me my drink without anything. BUT that was really a case of pixie dust since she had seen me multiple times over the course of my stay. I was fully prepared to call my sister to bring me my mug as proof! Ha!

Okay, I hope the mug itself is sufficient. I’m not going to follow the kids around with a receipt or my phone with a picture of the receipt all week. Seems like they could have just put a sticker on the mug or something if they were worried about people using old ones.

I would actually prefer to just show a receipt, instead of having to carry the mug around, since they are giving the drink in a paper cup anyhow.

Thank you!

I think that is in lieu of the mug. Some people at some places seem to have been able to show the receipt rather than taking their mug with them.

We only have stayed at Pop Century and you just show your Mug to the CM "manning" the entrance to Everything Pop and head on in.

To be honest,in Covid WDW,with the Mug situation being what it is,I am willing to bet they will accept a receipt or a Mug no questions asked-they just want to get Guests in and out as quickly as possible to avoid a crowd building.

They aren't interested in extreme scrutiny of Mugs in this Pandemic situation I don't think.

I recently did stay and filled up at boardwalk bakery, beaches and cream general store, geyser point, captain cook, and contempo cafe. Boardwalk bakery made me show the cup to get drinks. All the others allowed me to get drinks with just a photo of cups in room (though geyser point indicated technically shouldn’t but think was more since we did sit down meal there). Contempo cafe was where I visited most and had multiple times they gave drinks without even asking for any proof (I went enough they recognized me) so some places more flexible then others.

edit: I also did pool bar at kidani, boardwalk, and bay lake tower mostly with cups. Of note is pool bars give much smaller cups.
