My first trip, so they say there are no dumb questions. I read in my Birmbaum's guide something about refillable bottles. Any info?

The only things I have heard about are the refillable cups that you can buy at the resorts. They are marked differently at each resort (I think) so you can only re-use them at that resort. I believe the cost is $12/mug and you can refill them with and of the fountain drinks they offer at that resort and coffee. You can fill them up as many times as you want but they are only good in that resort. Make sense?

I am giving you info that I have collected from these boards, so I do not have first hand experience with these. Does anyone else have anything to add? Did I get this right?

Hey, what we did last year is we brought waterbottles and little crystal lite packages. The parks will give you free water in cups if you ask and then we filled our waterbottles with it and added the packages of crystal lite. Free and very tasty because it is important to remember to stay hydrated.

You could be talking about Brita bottles. They are refillable water bottles with a filter in them. They supposedly make the nasty Florida water taste OK. I got mine from ebay. :thumbsup2

The Brita bottles actually do pretty well eliminating the yucky water taste. But I'm going to just go with the flavor packets for iced tea or punch, etc. Bringing lots of those this trip.

Good to know! I'm definitely bringing our Brita bottles when we go. I can't stand skanky water! :rotfl:

my sister is told me the same about the brita water bottles (she is going in may and me in sept) but the brita water bottles are discontinued, so we are looking to buy the replacement filters on ebay. I think that culligan water also has water bottles w/filters. My family drinks water like we are fish so it could easily get into the $$$ for us if we don't use these. Hope that helps.

Well I guess that explains why I can't seem to find a new one. You could consider buying a sturdy refillable water bottle and using flavor packets instead, if you can't find the filters. They come in sugar free in case that's a consideration, and you can use as much or as little as you need for taste. (Some brands, for me, I only need to use half the tube because they're too sweet.)

There are plenty of "new" bottles and "new" filters for Brita to be found on Ebay. They are "new" in the fact that all though they are discontinued, they are in unopened packages. The filters will stay good for a few years so stock up. We bought two bottles and 10 filters for each on Ebay and plan on using them next month.

if we are going down for 9 days w/4 people how many filters do you think that we will need???? Sept 26th trip

You should each only need one filter, they're good for anywhere between 1 and 3 months, if I remember correctly, depending on how often you use them. For a 9 day trip, I would think one per bottle would be plenty.

I don't have it in front of me, but I'm pretty sure the package says the filters are good for 80 fill ups. I would probably go with two filters to be safe.

For some reason, I can't post the website for the refillable bottles that I saw. Put the following together with the normal 'header' & 'footer'. Pure water (number)two go
