Refillable Mugs

We had bought the mugs in previous years and liked them- we'd get coffee in the morning, iced coffee in the afternoon, and some beverage in the evening.

This time I didn't buy them since we had the dining plan. I bought a case of water at the grocery stop on the way in, and with the beverages provided with the meals we didn't want anything else to drink.

As far as I know, you buy the mug at your resort, for your resort, for as long as you stay at that resort, on that trip. Not for return trips or anyplace else, other than for your enjoyment at home

I remember from prior trips (too many to count offsite in the 90s, 1 onsite), in the parks, there were special mugs available in the gift shops, and at snack cats, and cs restaurants. I dont recall if the cs ones were refillable, if so, they may have charged, less than the cost of a bev. but still something ::yes::

The way I see it, with me and dh carrying 2 backpacks, we can use our mugs in the morn at the food court of our resort, rinse and dry them in the bathroom, and carry them with us in the b/ps since we're carrying the bags anyway, to refill at the end of the day on the way back to the room. Or just drop them at the room after brerakfast, and take the short walk to get them at the room in the evening. Me, dh, and dds 15 and 2 should make good use of 2 of the $12 mugs, unless they go up ALOT in price before next spring

Does anyone know what is available @ POFQ...for the refillable mugs...? :drinking1

Sodas, coffee (Nescafe), tea, and hot chocolate.

I am unfamilar with the refillable mugs. I am wondering how they work. I am assuming that you can buy them at your resort but can you refill them as much as you want for free? Are they a decent size? And are they only refillable at your resort?

You can buy a refillable mug at the food court of your resort. You can refill it during your stay with beverages (soda, coffee, tea--not milk) in your resort's food court, but it's not refillable at the parks or anywhere else.

The mugs usually come in 2 styles, a travel-shaped one that'll fit in the cup holder of you car and a "chunky" version. I think both hold about the same amount of drink. I think it costs $11.99 (or $12.99?? I can't remember right now) for a mug.

Hope this helps.

POR has soda, coffee, Hi-C (fruit punch and lemonade, I believe), hot chocolate, and hot water. For my DH and myself the mugs are well worth the price!

I agree about them being worth the expense, for a family of 4, to buy and share 2 mugs, if they are used twice a day for a week, it would surely pay for itself. Besides, what a great souvie ::yes::

thanks for the information....my DD and I will be purchasing a couple during our upcoming trip....!!!

I would bet for those who drink lots of coffee, like me :hyper: , it is well worth the cost! I am planning on purchasing one for myself and one for my husband and perhaps a third for the boys to share :hyper2: .

Been to Disney as a kid 3 times, 1st time Fort Wilderness, 2nd off-site,
3rd time Grand Floridian (what a trip)

I went to my AAA office yesterday, and they said if you book your package with them in January, (since January is Disney month), you get 2 refillable mugs. Has anyone heard this, and are these the same ones that can be used at the resorts?

Thankfully we were given our mugs by friends who had been to our resort recently. I would be so angry if I had spend money on them.

The refillable mugs *seem* like a good idea, until you realize that unless you want to run them back to your room is the morning, you need to lug them through the parks all day. And if you do leave them behind in the room, after a long day in the parks, you will need to hike to your room to get the mugs, then hike back to the main food court, then back to your room.

Instead, for $65 (four mugs would be $48), we ordered soda, bottled water, milk, juice, breakfast and lunch foods and paper products from WeGoShop.
THAT is the REAL bargain!!!

I totally agree! I tried one a few years back, and because my room was pretty far from the dining area, didn't want to run back to drop it off every time I used it, so ended up carrying it to the park (to put in the locker). To me, it only makes sense if you eat most of your meals at the hotel. We only had meals there occasionally, and didn't use the mugs much.

:earsboy: We bought mugs    about 10 yrs ago while staying at Dixie Landings, now called Port Orleans Riverside, and have used them again at the Polynesian Resort .......then at the Movies Resort......and then at Coronado Springs Resort !! No need to buy them every trip......unless you need another souveneir !! No one every questioned us about it........Got my moneys worth !!
