Refillable Mugs

Hi gang!

WDW's official policy on this is that the refillable mug is valid for the length of your stay only. While it is a frequently abused system, it is WDW policy, and bottom line is that if you return to a new resort, you must purchase a new mug.

Please keep all further posts on-topic. Per DIS posting guidelines, no personal attacks are allowed; please keep this in mind when writing your response. Thank you! :)

The part of the trip my kids brought up first when we were planning our next trip was the refillable mugs. They are looking forward to collecting mugs from different resorts each year. princess:

If any body been to WDW in the past few years and purchased a refillable mug don't forget to bring it along. I stayed at POR this past August and saw many people using various types of mugs at the food court. New ones, old ones and mugs from other places.

I think it was nice of you to post your observation. :Pinkbounc
When we bought ours we were told they were good anytime while we were there AND when we came back. ::yes:: Maybe the policy has now changed.
I like seeing people with "older" mugs - it's a great conversation opener and it also helps you spot "veterans" that can share insights with you.
We have a cupboard full of mugs. We use the mug of the resort we stay at. While I don't think it's appropriate to use mugs from one resort in another, I can understand why someone who spent a few days at AKL, then was moved to another Disney resort may not feel compelled to purchase another mug. I've been down there when they've told me I would be moved from one location to another during my stay.
I agree with an earlier post that if it does become an overwhelming problem, Disney will fix it (one way, very easy is to simply put the year in print on the mug itself "good for 2004" - although the bar code is interesting.
I'm wondering if the Port Orleans mugs are good at both resorts - POFQ and POR?

I have seen the same thing. I even saw the Dixie Landing mugs from 1998. We always forget our mugs, and we never really stay in the same place twice, anyway. I have quite the collection... Dixie Landings, Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge, Caribbean Beach Resort, All Star Movies, Port Orleans and the Polynesian.

If you carry your mug with you into the parks, do not loose it, because they aren't turned into lost and found, so you would have to buy another.

I agree with the op I brought down all my mugs from the past 5 visits so i would have one that fit in while we were pool hopping throughout disney oops! did I just say I was pool hopping sorry I wasn't really doing that I was to busy at the parks, by the way I was able to pass my two teenagers off as 9 yr olds (Ticket prices are a whole lot cheaper) seems that the CM'S don't even check.

P.S. seems to me their are a heck of alot worse things in life to get torked about.

Hey great idea. As long as you are doing that why not just take some items from the stores too. As long as no one stops you it must be okay. Then finish off your day by cutting in line in front of some children so you can see your favorite character. There is no need for you to wait. Who needs rules. How about a little common sense.

Stop it - I'm laughing so hard I almost use the restroom on myself I swear I was thinking the same thing!!!! :D

Yall are just too much!!!!

We're off to Coronado Springs in Feb. How much are the refillable mugs?
Thanks.
Alison

I stayed at the Coronado Springs earlier this month. The mugs are 11.99. They also had really big one's for 19.99. I got the 11.99 one though.

At most recent count, we have about 13 of the darn things. My dh has demanded that no more come into our house!! But since we stay mostly at DVC resorts it's not so much an issue anymore. But when we got them, we thought of them as souveniers. As far as bringing them back on subsequent visits....I just couldn't be bothered. They take up more room in my bags than they are worth. I figure that if I can't afford to buy new ones, maybe I should be rethinking my trip. Or maybe we should just be drinking water(but not the WDW water..don't want to go into that argument either!!).

Skip the refillable mug completely your digestive system might thank you for it.

If we ever make it to WDW again we will skip the refilable mugs and just buy or bring regular travel mugs. I can not tollerate Disney Water so I have to stick to bottle beverages. I was even making my tea and hot chocolate with bottled water during our trip.

I am sure I got looks when I used my ASMo (from the same trip) in the food courts at GF & AKL. But I knew I wasn't doing anything wrong.
