refillable mugs

Hello everyone,
I have been reading all the great tips and moneysavers for a bit now and finally registered. My question ...I am staying at Pop Century in August, can I bring my all star music/ sports mugs with me or do I have to purchase new Pop mugs. I was just wondering because I always stay at the all stars and have only purchased mugs once. Thanks to anyone who can help!!

From all I've read and heard (and experienced), the staff probably won't say anything to you about using the recycled mugs. We certainly re-use our mugs at the ASmo time and time again, even though a couple say ASmu and ASspo.....however, this is where I differ from DH on the subject. I say why not buy a new one or two as souveniers--truly one of the few objects ONLY travelers to the World will have. He says why buy anything new if you can save ten bucks!! Go figure.
Since PopC is brand new--I'd want to have one of theirs in my collection anyway!!

In all honesty, the CMs at the resort probably will not say anything to you if you bring your Music or Sports mugs. There is a sign now that says the mugs are good for the length of stay. Im the type of guy that goes along with the rules. They say I need a new one, Im buying a new one.

You should have read the thread regarding this topic back in Jan/Feb. It got downright ugly. Ill repost soon with the thread link.

For souveniers, it makes a great idea to buy them. That way you can remember.

Be careful...this thread is liable to get heated....

In reality, they are good for your length of stay and only at the resort they were purchased from.

okay, I've decided...I will buy the new Pop century mugs. I will have them as a souvenier. Thanks everyone for the help. I am sorry for bringing this sore subject up.

Good Choice, I personally buy new ones, but I have seen people usine Dixie Landings Cups at POR in 2004...when did it change over? I wouldn't worry about asking a valid question. Have fun with your new cups!!!

It changed a couple of years ago.

I love my Wilderness lodge mug as a souvenir - I use it every morning - a little pixie dust with a side of caffeine!

I always buy a new mug. I drink a lot of soda and figure I'd spend way more than the mug if i was buying soda by the cup, so it's worth it, and it's a souvinere. I use all the mugs i have at home all the time too.

We have 40 plus mugs at home. I almost always buy new ones as we stay at different resorts. I am guilty of taking old ones as well back to the same resorts to fill for use after the drink stations close. We stayed in Pop and bought the tall ones in December and found that they tip over very easily in my electric scooter. So this time we are buying the big ones. They make great souviners. I think if you are resort hopping only buying one would be okay. If any one asks you are still on the same stay just trying a different hotel. We have to move on our last night as there was not a room only available at Pop. HOpe this helps

I personally think the mugs are a rip off. Have you noticed how big they are on the outside and tiny on the inside??? I'll be using my last year ones most likle unless the design has changed.

The mugs at PC are 11.99. My DH though I was crazy when I bought two our first night, but boy did he love being able to grab a drink without waiting in line to pay for it! We filled them on the way to the bus every morning and on the way back to the room every afternoon. Just stuck the handle through the strap on my fanny pack to carry it all day. For us they ended up being a great value. We did resort hop, but we didn't use them at the second resort.
