Refillable mugs?

I know that the resorts with food courts have mugs that you can purchase and then they're refillable throughout your stay. We're staying at the BWV and since there is no food court (that I know of), I assume there are no refillable mugs? We just wanted to check because our family drinks like a herd of elephant and if there's a way to do refillable mugs at the BWV, we want to get in on it! Thanks!

Yes, BWV/BWI have refillable mugs. You can get them refilled at the Boardwalk Bakery and the snack bar near the main pool. The mugs are for sale at the Bakery and probably other places as well.

FWIW, we usually just buy a case or two of our favorites and keep them in the referigerator of our unit. I think the refill places are inconvenient - unless you tend to drink mostly when you are by the pool.

Does anyone know if OKW has the refillable mugs as well. If so where do you get them refilled and what are the prices of the mugs.

Thanks for the info. One more question I have is how long are the mug refills good for? Is it a period of time, such as a year, or is it only good during your stay? We tend to go 2-3 times a year, but usually only for 4 or 5 days at a time.

I agree with CarolMN -- I have in my notes to bring our own cold drinks. It's usually inconvient to go get the drinks and the mugs do not hold much. I do ask for no ice if I am going back to the room to drink them. I think the BC drink locations are even more inconvient that the BW. On one trip we were real close to the pool bar at the BW, ground floor unit -- then they were worth it.

They mugs were intended for length of stay use.

Hi Wisbucky

OKW did have refill mugs still a couple of weeks ago. They were a holiday theme. $11.95 with free refills. Now I though I heard someone mention here before my trip that they had been told that the theme of the refill mug would change with the season so do let us know what you find :-) I travel with a refill mug collector and you'd think me packing an extra bag would have Mom giving me brownie points come my birthday and Christmas.

They did have 2 when we were there the $11.95 free refills that we also saw at Epcot (same mug) but I had read here that the ones at OKW are stamped on the bottom or something so they know if it's theirs. The other I think was the $4.95 I think is on All Ears but there is a charge for those refills and I think it was teal. It was late on our 1st night and after going 24 hours with no sleep my memory on color is a bit foggy *g*

Oh and if your a collector of those mugs that LOOK like refill one but are not used for such. Mom found a Brother Bear one at AK just over the bridge into Camp Mickey-Minnie, they served hot cocoa in it and I think it was around $5 and I believe she also spotted it at Epcot possibly the Electric Umbrella. I just remember making annoyed sounds as I had to hunt high and low at AK all cause some man said it was just over a bridge. *shaking head over non-disney nuts*

AND... because I hope that Mom finally buys hers in 2005....they have those SpaceShip Earth shaped mugs at Epcot. Think it's a one time fill for the mug and it's around $5. Cool Pizza station by Test Track had them along with over by Figment I tink.

I wish she had latched onto pressed pennnies, but what can you do with parents these days? *g*

Thanks MAC3 and DianeL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We will be buying the mug for sure at OKW> My DH lives to fill his mug. It is like a daily ritual or something with him. Anyways it sure beats having to pay $2.50 for a pop out of the pop machine 3 times a day for him.

I missed that section on the mug man? But read it now from you thread. That is hillarious. I could say that my DH is almost similiar, although he only carries his mug and the heck with mine. My DH wears shorts, t-shirt or no sleeve shirt, tennis with high socks up to the top of his calves and insists that he needs the mug filled in order to properly function for the day. He doesnt drink coffee but pop.

Thanks for the good laugh !!!!

Anytime Wisbucky :)

It's one of my fave threads and I just spent some time reading the newer posts to it. Currently reading that one couples trip report (The one with the glow ice cubes).

And if it ever makes it to the top again the "It's A Small World" evil doll thread is pretty good too. Now when I ride it I think of that post and chuckle. :)

Happy Reading!
