Here a couple of questions regarding the refillable mugs

1. Are they worth it?
2. Can you put coffee in them?
3. Do they have tops on them?
4. Can you carry them from park to park?
5. Can you refill them park to park, resort to resort?
6. I am staying at the Port Orleans Riverside can you have a room that is too far away fom the food court to make it worth it?

Can you get an electric coffee pot from housekeeping?
How about a hot pot?
Thanks again - it's getting close!!

Hi there!

We purchased the refillable mugs the day we checked in (we were there this past Feb.). I think they paid for themselves that first night.

My fiance is a coffee drinker and filled it with coffee many times.

They do have tops that you can either drink through the small hole on top or you can put a straw in the hole.

Can't use them at parks or other resorts.

We loved them!!!

1. Are they worth it? Only if your resort has convenient places to refill them. Yes for Poly & POR ,and no for BC.
2. Can you put coffee in them? Yes..
3. Do they have tops on them? yes
4. Can you carry them from park to park? Yes but you can only get free refills at the resort you bought them at.
5. Can you refill them park to park, resort to resort?No...
6. I am staying at the Port Orleans Riverside can you have a room that is too far away fom the food court to make it worth it? We stayed pritty far from the food court at POR but the hike was not bad.

When we stayed at the BC we bought a perculator from Publix , coffee, and sugar, and even milk. It worked out great.

I thought that i heard you could use mugs at any Disney hotel? Has anyone done this? We have an All Star mug from a previous trip, and a Carribean Beach mug a friend brought back for us[ i am now collecting mugs]. Staying at Port Orleans in November. Thanks:earsboy:

If you buy a mug at All Star Sports, you can use it at sports, music and movies. You can't use it at any of the other resorts

Technically, you are buying a Lenght of Stay mug which means it can be used at the resort you bought it at, during the stay you bought it. People do bring them back and use them again, but I read on another thread that Disney is getting ready to clamp down on this. I can see why. I have seen people refilling mugs from places like their local convience store.

its a good thing, they do pay for themselves very quickly,
i put coffee coke water, i put it all in them, but cant use them in other resorts or in the parks, maybe if you beg though

CMs working at resorts have said as long it is a Disney Resort Mug,you can bring it back and use it at the resort you bought it at and any sister resorts,ie All Stars or the 2 PO resorts.

I don't understand this?? What does this matter?? Most convience stores don't care what you use to buy Their soda in?? I'm sure it is okay with Disney,if you use the mug you Purchased?
I know I hated it when you needed a special cup for every convience store you might buy soda at. Now we only keep 2 a piece. 1 in the house 1 in the car.

I read on the Theme Parks and Attractions board (do a search for new refillable mug policy)... Don't quote on when it will start, which resort will be first, or how this is going to be implemented.

There will be barcodes on the mugs, you need to scan the mugs either with a) standing in line at the checkout to get your mug scanned every time or b) scanning the mug at the drink station.

Mugs without bar codes will not work as far as I can tell.

Now with my old mug, I'm not sure if they sell just bar code stickers that I can slap on, or I have to start from scratch again.

Please read up on the policy before you decide on what to do.

Last summer when we went to Blizzard Beach they had refillable mugs with bar codes, and the machines read the bar code when we went up to refill. Maybe that is the system that they are planning to use at the resorts. The Blizzard Beach ones are only good for the day, but you can bring your mug back on other days/visits and buy just a sticker for less than the original price of the mug. Seems fair to me.

Even if you have to buy one, it's worth it. We filled it in the am with coffee, afternoon (if we got back to the resort) with pop and hot choc in the evening. We used it 3-4 times a day....so easily got our moneys worth. PLUS it makes a great souvenir.
