My friend went and said she bought refillable mugs for the resorts only. Can those be used year after year?

1) Usable at the resort where you bought them.
2) Usable only for the length of your stay.
3) Not usable for repeat stays.

NOTE: Refillable mugs sold through 2002 are usable forever. They were sold to be used on every trip.

So wait, if we bought the reusable mugs in 2002 - we didn't actually have to buy new ones for every trip thereafter?? Does anyone have a picture of said mugs so that I can compare to my collection?

Refillable mugs are the single greatest invention that Disney has made. It's such a great deal!!!

1) Just the ones claimed "forever".
2) They amounted to about 1/2 the mugs for sale.
3) Look for "free refills forever" on the mug.
4) After 2002, all of the mugs became l"ength of stay only".

Sure doesn't stop anyone from bringing the mugs back. I saw more than a few YOAMD mugs being used at POP this past weekend.

Booking multiple ADRs at the same time and "deciding which to use later."

Oh no! The dreaded refilllable mug thread! Only hotter topic is the "late fast pass" rules.

Here's the definitive answer:

Mugs purchased currently are, according to Disney, only good at your resort and only for the length of stay. So, if you bring them to another resort...you are breaking Disney rules. You should not do this!

However...all resorts use the same mugs now (they used to be resort specific) - and generally you can use them at other resorts without any problem. You can't use them in the parks. (The water parks have their own reusable mugs...which are different.)

AND..if you bring back your mugs from a previous stay and re-use them...you are breaking Disney rules. So you should not do this!

Again however...I have seen people with a handful of pre-YOAMD mugs refilling them and not once did anyone stop them. That doesn't mean it is OK, or that YOU won't be stopped.

So, in summary, if you bring back your mug - you will be soundly thrashed for it here on the DISboards...but you may or may not get in trouble at Disney. If you go back within the same "mug style" year...as YOAMD lasted 2 years...then it is unlikely they will "catch" you.

I've seen mugs from Seaworld and Universal being used......:confused3

I would prefer Disney enforce this a little more. I too saw nearly every make and model mug being refilled when I was there in April. All the while Disney personel just allowed them to clearly violate the policy.

Nearly every time we go to Disney my family buys the new mugs. They are a great deal even if you have to buy them each time! I'm afraid Disney may stop the refillable mug program.

I absolutely hate buying a new refillable mug for every single visit to Disney World. Since Disney is pushing "the environment" so much these days, me buying a new mug for every visit is counterproductive. I would appreciate it if Disney would "sell" a sticker to place on my existing mug that gives the dates of my current visit instead.
