Refillable Mugs

while we're on the subject... does anyone have a photo of the 2008 design?? I was there in 2007 and have 2 of those mugs. I usually buy one anyway, as a souvineer, but I was thinking of bringing my other two for my friends to use. but I would probably feel guilty doing that. in any case, I was just there, but didn't check out the new mugs.

I don't care what anyone does about their mugs, but I'd give anything to get people to stop dumping their lemons and straw wrappers and other garbage in the little sinks meant to wash them out.

The worst behavior I have ever seen at Disney was around the beverage fountains at the All-Stars and at SSR. There must be a magnetic field that sucks the brains out of some people.

Okay, here's a ? for you:
Say we go to WDW for Oct 30, 31, Nov 1, 2. On Nov 2, we leave Disney property to go on the DCL from Nov 2 to Nov 6. On Nov 6, we return to WDW property for the rest of our vacation until we leave for home on the 8th.
Do we need to buy 2 sets of mugs or are we able to continue to use them since we really were always on our disney vacation? Just wondering how this scenerio would work? :confused3

You are still on your Disney vacation. Use the mugs. Despite the horror on the DIS, :scared: the mug police at the resorts are fine with that.

I think if you position your thumb just right you could totally cover the 2007 up and no one would ever guess... unless one of the mug police is sitting in the food court and could tell from the funny way you're holding it. Just make sure to keep it covered at all times - it might make eating a little hard but hey, it saves you $12 right. :lmao:

you are all TOO funny. it is amazing how far people will go to save a buck. and usually very boldly. They don't seem to care WHO sees them filling their "big gulp" containers from the beverage bar. I tend to be 'rule follower" but I figure this will be my second trip this year and I bought the one last year and hardly used it. ( we were upgraded to Saratoga Springs and their "food court" is nothing like POP) So my friend gave me hers to keep and she is now going back with me. I have bought new ones every year since the first time I got one. so... I will probably give the two I have back to my friend and my other friend and I will buy myself a new one. That way I don't feel like I'm cheating so much. HEY, I have 3 POP refillable mugs from 2006 that have the POP design on them, I don't have the guts to bring THOSE and use them. Even though I'm staying at POP again.
thanks for the laughs anyway :flower3:

Just bring an empty bread bag or empty can of corn and refill those and hope nobody fights over who gets which one.

The bread bag will work for the ice but gets a little messy for the soda. The ice buckets in the rooms work well though.

Hey that's a good idea fill up the bucket in the room with ice and soda then there will be plenty to go around. Better yet the garbage cans are bigger.

We just got back from Pop Century. Again, all types of mugs being used.Yes, I did see a Big Gulp:laughing: and someone even had the old Dixie Landing mugs.

Can someone explain to me how the mugs actually work? I know they are like $12-$15, and then what???? Where do you get them??? You can fill them up free your entire stay???? Do you fill it up at your resort???? There will be 4 of us, so I am not sure if it would be worth it to get 4 of them.....my kids don't drink that much soda...are their other options to drink? I know for me, it would be worth it!!! I LOVE Diet Coke!!!! and Diet Dr. Pepper...so I KNOW I will get one (if I am understanding this correctly). :)

Thanks!!!

I just went to allearsnet and answered my own question. Man, this is better then I thought...so does this mean we can refill it each morning with coffee?

(I was wondering how we would live without coffee in our room each morning and didn't want to have to buy it....we are staying at ASMo.)

Sure, and hot chocolate too if you'd like :thumbsup2

OK, the ketchup thing has me giggling.

I must tell you all that after our last visit, my husband came back with a Dole Whip in his cup. I asked him what he was doing, and his honest impression was anything he could get into that cup was fair game. I truly believe he would have brought back soup with a straw if I hadn't corrected him.

BUT....after many, many trips for Mai Tais on our way from the monorail at the Poly, we were scheming how Disney would do refillable mugs at the bar. It was medicinal for us....long day with the kids, get off the monorail, stop by the bar for some "special juice for Mommy & Daddy". After our bar bill, I'd pay a hefty price on a refillable mug for the bar!

NOOOOOO
take a sharpie in the color of the mug and turn the 7 into an 8...
OR
better yet cover it with all those Mickey stickers and no one can see it.....

I have seen too much on our vacations :lmao:

Don't Drink the coffee.... IMHO don't drink the coffee at WDW food courts or MK or.. you get the idea..

just curious...what's wrong with the coffee??? (or do I want to know????)

Is there a DoleWhip dispenser at the POLY? If it is at the beverage station, I think he does get it free in his cup. The slushies are included for sure. The slushie works better in the bread bag than soda, it has a thicker consistency and lower density than liquid soda so no leaks. Also the ice is ground to a fine grain, where as ice cubes in the soda may have sharp edges- increasing the chances of an interior bread bag laceration. Wonder Bread bags are the thickest plastic- so I recommend those over generic bread bags.

can you tell i'm kidding? just curious. ps: the slushies really are included

it's nescafe'

hubby says it swamp water coffee ( and we live here but he has hated the water or anything mixed with the water since he moved from NH 18 years ago . he still says it tastes bad after all those years

I think it's not very good-IMO only
others may like it I don't care for it

of course he grinds his own beans and uses a Senseo pod thingy..
I guess he is a coffee snob.

we take a coffee pot when we go to stay over

...slushes are included????? Then maybe I will get one for the kids as well! :) Good to know!

coffee snob...that is funny!!!! We are flying so I don't think taking one is an option.
