Refillable Mugs

Are you allowed to bring back mugs that you bought the year before? We bought 2 mugs when we went last May...would we be able to use them again this September or do we have to purchase new mugs?

Are you staying at the same resort that you stayed at earlier this year? IMO if you are, I don't see where that would be a problem, you purchased the mug this year and you are going back why not.

ooh this is one of those touchy subjects that can cause dis- harmony on the DIS.
WDW rules say refillable mugs are only good for the stay at the resort in which you buy them
So no you aren't supposed to use them at different vacations. thats what WDW says
some people are very serious about this subject...

I take mine back EVERY chance I get. And I am sure a LOT of people on the boards do too... but just won't admit it. I have even talked to the manager while I was IN THE FOOD COURT regarding the subject and how touchy it is on these boards. He laughed and said they do not even enforce the rule.

Oh well...regardless... people are going to do what they want to do and say what they want to say. So, love it or hate it.....I will continue to bring my mug back a second or third time or even more for that matter...Have a magical trip you all!!

Okay, here's a ? for you:
Say we go to WDW for Oct 30, 31, Nov 1, 2. On Nov 2, we leave Disney property to go on the DCL from Nov 2 to Nov 6. On Nov 6, we return to WDW property for the rest of our vacation until we leave for home on the 8th.
Do we need to buy 2 sets of mugs or are we able to continue to use them since we really were always on our disney vacation? Just wondering how this scenerio would work?

I think the mug design changed as it now does not have a date (2007) on it.

And yes, they are only good for the stay you buy them during. It (compliance) is based on the "honor system".

I bring my "Big Gulp" from home. A dixie cup just doesn't hold enough for me.

no have your kids distract the CM's while you:

take your empty 20 oz empty coke or sprite bottles and refill them at the drink fountains...
OR
take your free water cup and send different people up to get enough refills for your big gulp....

please don't do any of the above- we like to people watch and see this happen so often at the resorts...

But to OP I've never seen Disney enforce a cup rule from another resort or vacation.. Not saying they won't- I just know what the "Rules" state- we only bought them one time casue I wanted cups...we don't drink soda and carry Bottled water all the time.
