Refillable Mugs

We love to get the mugs and fill-up on our way to the parks and re-fill on the way back to the room. We try and grab some napkins or paper towels to stuff into the mugs when they are empty. Otherwise that little bit at the end that won't come out is destined to finally leak out when you toss the mug in your back pack!

Is there a type of refillable mug that you can use in all the parks as well?? ( I thought I read somewhere about a special 'million dreams' one - or perhaps I dreamt it!! hehehe!!!:confused3 :rotfl: :rotfl: )

Drinks are usually a little over $2 each so if you figure you'll have 5 drinks during your stay they make it worth the $. Last time we were there we had at least 2 drinks a day and many times 4 or 5. As many others have said it does make for a nice souviner. Go for it.

Now for ...

DW Dad-
you don't have to rub it in that your are there. How is the weather and crowds right now? Have a great trip. We can't wait for June.

YO

Love the mugs! POR has a sink/barrel to wash them out on both sides of the drink stations.

We love the mug, I love the frozen coke machine at POP. I do wish they didnt have the generic mug, I love my POFQ mug and I have the generic one last year from pop. I was hoping this years would atleast look a little different! Oh well, I can keep going back to see if the mugs changed each year!

We like them!

We always got drinks in the morning, while lounging during our mid day break, and after the parks at night..worth it to us to have them!

bumping up as I would be interested to know the answer to this one!

We are defintely getting these as we will get soda or tea or a slushie when we are the room and get us bottled water at the park since we are flying and using dinsey transportation we wont have water with us. We are also on the dining plan and think this will be a good deal for us!:wizard:

You CAN get milk in these!!!!!That's if the resort you are staying in has it in the self serve fountains... so some resorts do, some don't... just check it out.

If someone were only staying 2 or 3 nights they may not get a great value out of the mug and end up being pretty close to even with a take home mug!

If someone is staying for a week or more and uses the mug even once a day... then HUGE value, and a take home mug!

Now imagine staying for 14 nights and paying OOP every day, in comparison to the mug... WOW

Quick question: Do you have to show the cashier your room key or anything everytime you fill out the mug??

Anyone know if they have tea/coffee available at All Sports for these mugs? I don't think I can cope without my cups of tea each day...coming from the UK :lmao:

Yes. they have it at every resort.

TLPL, no, you just go get the refill by yourself. Think...McDonalds. You just go in, refill, and leave. :)

I usually only use them in the morning before going to the parks, and in the evening after coming back, so usually, two drinks a day. As long as you use them that much, they pay for themselves in less then a week.

Not at the 4 main parks, only at the water parks.

Actually Animal Kingdom has a variation of a refillable mug. For about $6.79 you buy a sports bottle that can be refilled for about $1.00 while you're at the Animal Kingdom.

I didn't know about this myself, even though I was at Disney THREE times last year. A poster just came back and reported this. I believed her and even found this on allearsnet.com to support her.

They do have apple juice available for refillable mugs--at least they did at Pop Century in December 2007. :thumbsup2

You can't get milk with them....but you can get coffee, pop, and maybe juice (although it might just be some kind of punch rather than "real" juice).

It's basically what you can get at any fast food place (McDonald's, etc) that has the customer fill up their own drinks.

As for being worth it---I think some of it depends on what resort you stay at, and where your room is located. For instance, we stayed at POR our last trip, which is pretty big. We were in building 18, which is very close to the food court. We did get a re-fillable mug, and it was very convenient to walk to the food court to get it filled. However....for someone staying in one of the buildings a ways from the food court...it might not be worth it. I personally would not get one if I was in a building far from the food court.

That's the same building we stayed in at POR and we definitely got our money's worth! I had at least 2 full mugs of coffee before the kids woke up and then took some drinks back for the kids and DH and had another couple cups of coffee while they got themselves awake and ready to go. And at night we'd just shuffle back and forth filling mugs w/ either coffee or soda or tea for DH.

Quick question: Do you have to show the cashier your room key or anything everytime you fill out the mug??

no. The drink station is outside the counter service area with the cashiers. At some resorts it's a different setup so just ask when you check in where the drink refill spots are.

Does anyone know if they have milk and Juice available at AKL? We are planning on the mug for DH at least but if they have milk we may just get them for DD and Me too. This would be a life saver for us. We were thinking of having groceries delivered simply for milk and juice!
Thanks
Heidi
