Refillable Mugs

We are staying at Pop Century in september and i was wondering if they are still using the tye-dye mugs. we went in March and got these and wondering if we can use them again... we have 2 sets of them... we got one this march and last march. Trying to save some money this time around.

All the resorts are in the process of changing to a special Year Of A Million Dreams refillable mug. POP is already using them and no longer sells the tie-dye ones. What's nice about the new mugs is they can be used at any resort during your stay as they are no longer resort-specific.

The refillable mugs you bought in March were good only for the length of that stay (there's a sign at the food court, and it's also printed right on the mug).

There are no mug police, you won't be put into Disney Detention if you bring back a mug and illicitly use it. But I just thought I'd let you know you'd be breaking the rules, just in case you are someone who respects rules regardless of the lack of enforcement.

Your choice, but I just wanted you to know that it IS a choice ....

[To any future posters in this thread ... I'm specifically NOT trying to start a debate on whether or not it's a good rule, whether or not front-and-center CMs care about or enforce the rule ... I just wanted the OP to KNOW ABOUT IT, and then make her own decision from there.]

I was disappointed about the mug change on our last trip. They're okay, but I really wanted a resort specific mug for my stay, even though I already had some from that resort from previous years.

I was unaware of the policy and i didn't mean to start a debate.... If they are new cups of course i will get one!! I;m very excitied about the new ones!! Does anyone have a picture??? we just didn't want to get anymore pop tye-dye because we have all of them!! lol

They are boring as heck. Not pretty, not peppy, not themed to the resort. Sort of a Winter Wonderland thing. Boring.

They do fit nicely in cup holders, though - long time coming on that for some hotels.

If people want to buy new ones, I'm fine with that. If they want to take old ones back, I'm fine with that, too. But, OP, lookout for the Self-Appointed Walt Disney World Mug Police. They'll be here soon to chastise anyone who would even consider re-using their old mug.

I only got one tye-dye mug at Pop in February, and wanted to get more when we went back at the end of May. I like the tye-dye much better, but we bought 3 of the new ones in May. They only come with 3 different color handles, blue, silver, and black.

Boy those mugs are boring. Do you know if they will have new ones or diff. ones at POP (PC) in Sept? We like our mugs from our past trip they were great souveniers!

How long will the resorts have the "Year of a Million Dreams" themed mugs?

For the past 2 years, since we were staying in Fort Wilderness cabins, we didn't bother purchasing the mugs. However, next June, we are thinking of staying at the Wilderness Lodge, and I wanted to purchase the refillable mugs - since we'll actually be close to where we can refill the mugs! But I kinda wanted resort-specific mugs...

How long will the resorts have the "Year of a Million Dreams" themed mugs?

I would assume once the Year Of A Million Dreams is over, WDW will either go back to the Resort design mugs or a new generic mug logo for all the Resorts.

Now that I have thought about it, I like the new mugs. My DH wishes they were larger, but it will make an awesome souvenir! Yea Disney!!!
