Refillable Mugs

Thank you everyone for your replies! I think that if we do anything, we might buy one mug (even just for the souvenier reason). But, since we're driving down, we'll probably pick up a bunch of beverages at the store before we even leave home [I know that all prices (and sales tax) are or seem to be much higher around Disney... wonderful retailers...]

I have to mention - I LOVE THESE BOARDS!!!!!!!!! SOOOOOO helpful!!!! Thanks so much everyone!

I love buying refillable mugs. We fill ours up in the morning and bring them to the parks with us. We carry a backpack so we have room for them once they are rinsed out and placed in ziplock bags. Then, they are ready to use as soon as we return to the resort. The Value resorts, with their central Food Court are the best for refillable mugs. POFQ is also good for the same reason. The Epcot resorts are very inconvenient for mug use, as is OKW, CBR, CSR and PO-R. The monorail resorts and AKL are a bit better with their centralized mini food courts. Best of all, I get to drink out of a variety of Disney mugs once I get home!

As a rule we like the mugs, for a coffee or tea a day and a soda in the evening overall they paid for themselves. At the CBR they are nice because they have many colors (good for identifying your own mug lol) We are staying at the WL only one color. I've already packed a sharpie for identifications purposes. If you don't think you will use them much buy the one that most have suggested. I HATE Florida water so for me $2.00 water or a seltzer fill up. Woo Hoo. Also, We use our mugs for camping. Each person is in charge of their own mug. Less cleaning for Mom!

Have a magical day,
Anna

If you drink coffee and soda, they can't be beat IMHO. We do alot of quick breakfasts and snacks at the food court, and always get a drink to go with it. In no time, you've got that mug paid for and then some.

And they make great travel mugs for the car at home. :)

At POR, if you board/get off the buses at the main bus stop, you can easily breeze through the food court (open until 11:30 or midnight) on your way to and from your room. We did this everyday and, when we were really thirsty, sat for a few minutes to drink the first cup and refilled before moving on to the room/bus. We also refilled it easily when we were at the main pool. We were in building 18, so it wasn't such a bad trek to refill the drinks a few times each evening.

..for us, we don't drink coffee so would only use the mugs for soft drinks. We only stay for 7 to 10 days, so its much cheaper and, as mentioned by others, much more convenient to have our own drinks in a refrigerator or cooler in our room and not to purchase the mugs. We can take our drinks with us to the pool and to the food court when we eat there. We take the drinks with us to the parks and even keep a small cooler in the car with drinks so when we leave the parks we have inexpensive cold drinks if we want them. I can't imagine lugging the mugs around with us and they hold very little. :cool1:

I did the mugs while I was there last. And yes. they do have sweet tea. THey also have Icee's and hot cchocolate! The mugs are a deal!!!

Icee's? Really? I didn't know this. Does anyone know if the Boardwalk resort has Icees for it's refillable mug, and where would you get them? I wasn't planning to get a mug there during our trip because they don't have a central location to go to and fill up (have to ask someone to do it for you there, right?). But if they have Icee's, we would do it. My kids would love that!
