Hi All ~ We have a couple of CBR mugs and were thinking about packing them for the next trip and then buying two FQ mugs to use and have as souveniers. What is your experiencing with bringing our old refillable mugs? Thanks! Sandra

[please post or pm your experience not your debate ~ thanks, Sandra]

As you must know this is a big debate on this thread. My opinion would be do what you feel is best and end it with that.

When we go back to POR we have 4 mugs and if there the same, I'm bring my 4 back and buying 1 more because were a family of 5. If I was going to a different resort then I would buy all 5 new mugs. The looks people would give me would kill me.

Hi Sandra! In Aug 04 we took my mum's POR mug from May 04 and we bought another of our own. The design hadn't changed and we had no problems. We didn't buy them last year because we split our stay 3 nts BC/4nts GF and also found that it was more convenient to use the in-room coffee makers and a Brita pitcher along with a keg of powdered iced tea and one of lemonade. We found that a lot better than hiking to the mug refill area every time we wanted to drink something other than bottled water. Your plan sounds great - enjoy! :thumbsup2

But honestly I am not sure why it's such a big deal. We have mugs from All Star Music (2 different sets since they changes) from Post Orleans Riverside and from Polp Centruy. If we are returning to the same hotel and they still have the same mugs, then YES, I will reuse them, if not we buy new ones. But we only buy 2 for a family of 4.

Do they staff really care? Onthe other hand, it's more a Disney loss when people lie about their kids ages to get them in free-BUT again, we went in December and DS's are 3.5 and 5.5 and the guy at the gate asked WHY our 5.5 year old Ds had a ticket-he thought he was under 3 ?????, believe me, he does not look UNDER 3-he's nearly 6, so in the end...do the staff really care?

In May we brought our old All Star mugs from 96 and we used them when we went ver to the All Stars for a quick trip and had no problems. I would bring them with you it will be fine.

I want to bring my 2001 CBR mugs back to CBR in March but they have been WELL USED and the artistry on the mug is about 30% washed off. Can I still bring it? Thanks! Sandra

I bring my POP mugs back to POP with me. I wouldn't bring them to a different resort.

I've used previously bought mugs, at the same resort only. And I'll bet that if you bring your "well used" one back, a CM will comment something along the lines of "welcome back". ;) I once told a CM, while I was filling my mugs at the All stars food court that we wouldn't be coming back for a while .. and her comment to me was, "oh, you have to come back soon .... those mugs will just get lonely in your cupboard and will need to come back here".

I've also read where people take back their true old "Dixie Landings mugs" and the CM's LOVE to see them!

When we bought our mugs the offer was, the mugs were good for life. Disney has now changed that policy but a contract is a contract! Mugs we bought before the policy change we take back and use, that's why we bought them.

In 1998, dh bought a mug at MGM and the CM said it was free drinks for life. I'm taking my chances and bring the mugs! THANKS!
