Just heard that all the refillable mugs are all the same now so you can use them in all the resorts.

Some one I know returned this week from WDW and could use the mugs from POP in the WL she told me.

Any one else can confirm this?

That would be pretty big news. I've read messages like that before though, and it turned out it was just someone pulling someone's leg.

Yes you can now use the mugs now being sold at "most" of the resorts. it seems that the contemporary is not participating since it is under rehab and the CS resort has their own mugs so not there either but other wise yes you can use the mug at any of the resorts DURING THE STAY IN WHICH YOU PURCHASE IT!

Have they gone to bar codes property-wide then?

No, there are no bar codes.

Most resorts now have the generic YOMD design.

The language has changed on the mugs. It used to say that the mug was good for the length of stay at the location purchased.

Now it still has the length of stay language but not the language regarding at location purchased.

CSR still has their own mug, they are not using the Magical Dreams one.

Well now what are we gonna argue about? :lmao: :rotfl:
Good news though.

They still are only good for the length of your stay - there is no sign encouraging people to bring them back on their next trip. Unless you have a split stay, I'm not really sure how many people find a benefit in the mug being refillable at more than one resort during your stay. Maybe if you went to one of the MK resorts to rent boats you could benefit from bringing your mug and staying hydrated.

Mug designs that change annually would help with enforcing the "length of stay" provision. YOMD this year, something else next year, etc.

They are all the same right now because of YOMD but that's the only reason. I thought the sign did say about using it only at your resort but I may have imagined that.

The new mug system worked well for us in August. We had a split stay. We used our mugs at ASMU & SSR.

My guess is that the year is now on them to prevent subsequent use in the future. We were able to use ours at other resorts. All cups were the same except for people that had the older ones

We'll probably get some use out of that change, since we tend to take two of our mugs with us in the morning (DH has to have his coffee and I need my tea) and then tuck them in the backpack when they're empty. I could see us getting refills at the BC as we walk from Epcot to MGM or at the Poly after dinner for while we watch Wishes from the beach, since we'll most likely have the mugs with us anyway.

Yes, that was how we used the cups also. We bring our coffee and then put the cups in the backpack. A few days we stopped by the Poly and WL, we were able to use them there. We always carried the cups anyway, now somedays we used them again.

We bought our mugs at POP and used them after we moved to POFQ. They were selling the same mugs at both locations--YOAMD design with 2007 on them.

I figured that's why they put "2007" on the mugs, and you would think that would help, but I saw more than a few people strolling around (POFQ) using old POFQ mugs, and even a few people toting old POP mugs. Maybe they weren't using them in the food courts, but who knows? :confused3

Which still won't do any good unless next year they plan to place someone at the drink stations to check the year on the mugs.

Yes, in the end it is still on the honor system, and I've even seen people using non-Disney mugs at the refilling stations.

We are staying at ASMu next week and plan on using Disney's transportations system to the parks every morning. Will DH and I be allowed to bring our mugs full of coffee to enjoy on the bus ride? ~ Mary

We were at WDW 2 weeks ago and each morning had a full cup of coffee and brought it on the bus. We followed the rules and didn't drink while on it, just kept the lid in the closed position. No one said a word. Many others, too, brought the cups along. No problem.
