Refillable mugs question

Hey everyone
I was wondering if the graphics/cartoons on the refillable mugs are the same at all the All-Star resorts. Also, do they change them every year? We stayed at ASMu last year and are staying at ASMo this year, actually in 24 days! Basically, can we use them again this year if we wanted to?

Refillable mugs are good only for the length of your stay. So a purchased mug from last year would not be good for this year. I do not know if they change the mugs enough every year for CM's to be able to tell if it's an old mug or not.

No, sorry, you can't. You can only get refills for the length of your stay. If you look closely at your mug, I think that statement is actually printed on it somewhere. Have a good trip.

can you ' re-purchase ' a refill sticker on them and if so then why is the mug topic such a hot one ? Is it that people do not want to pay again to re-use them and just hope to use them for the rest of their life and then their childrens life !!

I am not trying to stir any trouble up here please ! I accidentaly did that with a b-day post!! Just asking a question, and by the way we have not ever purchased a mug nor do we plan on it so I am not planning or thinking about re-using a mug simply trying to figure out what all the fuss is about.

There are not any stickers you can purchase for the mug. Under the current program you need to purchase new mugs with every stay.

If you switch resorts you can ask a CM if you can use them. But most will tell you that you need new mugs. It isn't Disney's fault that you switched resort. But ask at the new resort first.

Oh God....wouldn't a sticker system be nice??!! I have way too many of the darned things but I love having one from each resort. I just hate having 6 from one resort but 2 different stays!!! I really wish they would institute some kind of system that would enable us to reuse each trip. I would be willing to pay $8 for each reuse rather than adding to my collection!!!

Boy do I feel sheepish... We have used the same mugs 5 years in a row. they are EXACTLY the same, color wise, and graphics. The second year I took them just in case and there was nothing different.

The All Star resorts have changed the design on the mug this summer. So it is fairly obvious that you are using an older design.

The POP did change their MUG designs from last year...a bit more colorful and no Mickey on them this year!
When I was there last week I SWORE more people were using mugs from other resorts, Blizzard beach & a even a (dare I say) Universal mug than the POP mugs. Nobody was stopping anybody.
There is no MUG COP at the refill stations.

Disney does often rely on their guests' personal integrity with regard to compliance.

With regard to the actual terms of the sale, I suppose they find it as mysterious as I do, how many guests actually assume that the mugs are good for more than just the one vacation.

Eh, I've seen people filling up using their plain ol' travel mugs that you get at Target, with a sort of a "I dare you to bust me" look on their faces.

Since I firmly believe in karma, I'm pretty sure these are the same people that get the Mickey ice creams with the broken ears, the photopass that's mysteriously blank, and become the favorite target of birds pooping.

And thus, I can walk away smiling, sure that cosmic balance will somehow restore itself...

Disneyrsh - you'll be happy to know that I was at Tom Sawyer Island one day during this trip and got seagull crap ALL OVER MY SHIRT and had to walk around for the remainder of the day with a poopie shirt.

now we just stay concierge...no mug needed. hehehehe

Why are people so opposed to actually paying for the mugs? These people obviously go to WDW often enough to have a few at home.....

It's free refills the whole time you're there---why should you expect free refills for life?

I wish they would change the mugs every year. I now have 15 GF mugs that are all the same.

Honestly, I've never found the mugs to be a good value. Unless your room is right next to the food court and your family drinks a TON of coffee and soda, I don't see how it saves money.

The last time I bought one, I was there for 7 days and just broke even. Which I guess makes the mug free, but I've never used it since. The trip before that, it was just too much trouble to run half way across the resort to get a mug of coffee.

The last 2 trips I haven't bothered with it, and in fact, on my last trip we only ate at the food court once for the whole 8 day stay. We had a fridge in the room stocked with a $3 12 pack of diet Pepsi. Worked just fine for the two of us!
