Refillable Mugs Question

We are headed to the BCV next week, we must have refillable mugs from just about every resort we have stayed at. I have a bunch from our stays at BoardWalk.....can I use them next week?

thanks for your assistance!

Why not stop and just buy two liters drinks and store them in your villa. It would be much cheaper than walking down to refill them. You will have a full kitchen in your villa so you will have plenty of room.

A family of 4 would spend $45.00 buying mugs. Why not make a grocery stop and buy $45.00 worth of soft drinks. I can't imagine you would actually need that much.

I was wondering if anyone else did this...we are taking a group of kids with us--10 total-- and were thinking about getting two mugs and just sharing the free soda when the other drinks run out..ie when my son inhales his chocolate milk before two bites of his doughnut is gone!! LOL!! Is that being too cheap or has anyone ever been approached about how much use is too much use?>>if that makes sense!! Thanks,,,,gosh, September is so far away!!!

That's not the way the prograqm works. Each person is supposed to have their own mug.

Two mugs for ten people would cause a lot of problems in my household! lol We've shared between two when one doesn't drink a lot of soda (that'd be the one that I buy the milk for, but it's all gone and now I'm thirsty person-oops! That's ME! :p ), but generally I consider the mug one of the "cheaper" souvenirs and we all have one. Don't forget the coloured straws, though, so you know whose is whose!

Do you have to stay at a resort to go buy a mug or can you just go there and buy a mug to use during your stay?

My family of four, shared a mug. My husband cannot have caffeine, though, so his use was very limited. It was mostly just my 5 Y.O. and myself. We did pour the soda out into another cup, and then went back. No one said anything. we didn't make a production out of it. I think it would be rude to stand at the machine, and pour it into different cups. We went back to our lounge chairs.

Quite frankly, I thought it more of a pain, to buy the mug. We were at Coronado Springs, far away from the food court. Close to the pool, but it often closed too early to use when we got back. the only times we used it was our afternoon breaks. I didn't feel we got our $$ worth.

This trip, I plan on buying soda, at the grocery, and keeping it in a cooler. We drink more water when its hot, anyway.

You can purchase any mug you want, but, if you are not staying there, what would be the point? You cannot use them at other resorts, only the one where it was purchased.

Oh, I misunderstood. I thought these could be used at the Disney Park's too. Thanks for letting me know that. Dumb Me! LOL!

If you stay at the BC, the mugs are hard to get refills. You have to stand in line at Beaches and Cream or go to the pool for refills. There is no place you can refill them yourself. Also, they are not good for milk.

Not dumb at all, asking is how we learn. Lots of people think they are good in the parks also. Unfortunately, they don't have that program.

They are not good for milk or juice anywhere.

2 mugs for 10 kids is pushing the limit I think! Since you need to buy milk seperately, fiqure how much soda you will actually drink. If I were going with 10 kids, a grocery stop would make much more sense. Do kids really want to drink after each other?? Surely you didn't plan to use disposible cups?? They don't hold a lot anyway, that's like 5 trips to refill. Consider them sovenirs like the above poster suggested...they are nice mugs.

I completely agree. They do make nice sovenirs, and one of the most reasonably priced in all of WDW.

I wasn't thinking about using two mugs for all ten of kids and us...sorry if I made it sound that way...just wondering if it would be out of the question to share the refills.. my older kids can purchase a nesquick chocolate milk and have that last through breakfast...it is two sons who inhales their milk before they can finish--and no I didnt think of bringing plastic cups...that would be pushing it!!! and odd!!.. but more than two mugs to carry around all day without going back after breakfast is too much.I am thinking about getting milk from the gift shop instead of the food court if it cheaper there. I only drink soda so that will work for me--we are getting a few 12 packs for the room but I dont know how I would feel about bringing that down to the food court either..Bringing ten kids is going to be great but just trying to watch expenses here and there so we can enjoy a ice cream treat here and there....

Boardwalk mugs work only at Boardwalk, if you want to walk from BCV to have them filled, go for it, but the will not work at BCV. For more info on this program: http://wdwig.com/mugs.htm

Also, the mugs are only good during the duration of the stay they were purchased on.

Very very true, however, it seems to be the trend not to stop the folks from bringing them back each year.

I agree with you on that one and while I don't bring my mugs back (Ok, it has more to do with the fact that buying new mugs is part of the fun for me!!) I like to make sure people have the correct Disney policy info. in the off chance that they do get stopped they won't be surprised or say "But I was told on the internet...."
