Refillable mugs now good for life!

Actually my first two mugs are free refills for life but Disney chooses to ignore those mugs and will not even admit they are disney (pet peeve).

They actually are tossing around this idea. When you check in you pay a small fee and they print you a bar code. Stick it to the cup and you get refills for the length of stay. This is frequently done on cruise ships.

I hate the thought of no more mug police. I also heard there taking you pic when you buy the mug and inserting into the pic holder that will be new on the mugs purchased after april 10th.

This way when you go to the register to pay for your meal they will check the pic and scan you thru at no charge. It's about time.

People who would steal pop from disney. What in the world are we headed toward.

Had me until the electronic chip part...

But when I was there in February the CM at the gift shop was telling a guy that the cups are good Forever!
He even asked if he came back in FIVE Years could he still use them and was told YES!

Guess we will have to go back to the Pool Hopping or Tipping threads now that Disney has allowed their mugs to be good for life...............;)

You got me:lmao: I was just about to text my dad the good news.

Wow, I'm surprised I'm the first one to be commenting on the supposed WDW's spokesperson's name, lol!

Very nice April Fool's joke OP, :)

So glad it's not true.....I would have to buy 'blocks' of refills.

Just read the mug. It's written right on it that it is only good for the length of your stay at the resort you bought it.

I had NEVER noticed this and actually got up to look at our mugs and sure enough it is written right on them. Of course, I knew the rule, but in all the different mugs we have accumulated over the years, I had never noticed that!

Pretty funny. I missed this one on the 1st. As I was reading this I was thinking, out that's pretty cool. Now I won't have to buy any more mugs to added to our rapidly expanding collection. But when I read the radio frequency scanner bit I looked at the date and saw it was 4-1. I was thinking "well there's no way a limit on unlimited refills would work!" Plus wouldn't that mean that all mugs purchased before the plan was in place would be really valuable since they didn't have the codes so you would be able to get all the refills you wanted. I mean if you didn't have the radio thingy then you would get all you wanted, right? Then I thought, wow, you are going to be seeing even more mugs for sale on ebay and craigslist. Apparently I can think of a lot of things is a few seconds.

Can't wait to see what next April Fools brings. ;) I did read the one about WoC on the 1st. (I didn't fall for that one either)
