We are going to WDW at the end of this month and I have read a lot about the refillable mugs you can buy at your resort (we're staying at POP). I have also read that you can't fill them up everywhere, and doesn't it cost to fill them up. So, I am wondering if it is a good thing for us to buy, or just skip it? We are planning on doing an order with Garden Grocer for water bottles and snacks and stuff, but if this mug is a better deal, then I would rather do that. But, I just don't know....Help please!

If you drink alot of sodas or coffee they are a good deal. You can feel them up for free at the resort but that is the only place. I would fill mine up in the morning and take it with me to the parks. Then in the afternoon get ice water (for free) at any service counter. I took along those little crystal light packages and made my own beverages.:rolleyes1

At POP you get free soda, coffee, hot chocolate, and our favorite ICEE's in your refillable mug. Just like the pp we fill up in the morning and then when we would get back to our resort.

We bought 2, one for DH and one for me, but did not buy them for the kids.

He would get a coffee each morning, while we were getting ready, and I like to have a soda in the afternoon, sitting by the pool.

I don't like the kids having a lot of soda, and knowing they would have some in the parks throughout the day, I had them drink water, milk or juice boxes, while we were at the resort.

I posted the same question a little bit ago, and came to the conclusing that it is a good idea.... First, you can prety much use them at any resort since they are now a generic looking cup, meaning not to each resort. Second, if you have a stroller, its great. You can just put the cup in the stroller and take it to the parks and not have to worry about holding it the whole time. Then if you are at the pool a lot, you can have it there. Really, you just have to do some simple math (though for some of us its not that simple!). Lets say the drinks are regulary $1.75 each. Say your there for 7 days, and you will get a drink in the morning, and evening. So thats 14 drinks x 1.75 = $24.50. Being realistic, if you have kids you will probally be going back during the day as well, so it will be 3 drinks a day. So with that, it will be $36.75 compaired to less than $13. I think its a smart choice to get at least one for a family - just my thoughts!

Also, think of it as a souvenier! It was definitely worth it for our family. We stayed at POFQ so food court was VERY close and fiiled up alot. But the best part is now, pulling out what I call my "happy mugs" for cocoa or water. It always takes me right back to WDW!:goodvibes

Ours were included with our package, so we'll have 3 of them. I think it was a good deal. I think we will get good use out of them and like someone else said, I will just fill them with water while at the parks during the day.
