Can oyu get refillable mugs at the DVC resorts? Can you tell me where to get them and how much they are? Thanks everyone!

I used the refillable mugs last year at Beach Club Villas. Bought them at Beaches 'N Cream.

I refilled them at Beaches 'N Cream, Hurricane Hanna's, Cape May Cafe and in the evening at the lobby bar. You could also get refills with them at the Yacht Club.

I think they were like $10.95 each. We used them so much, especially at Hurricane Hanna's while at the pool, they more than paid for themselves! I think the other DVC resorts have them too. I think other posters can help you. :smooth:

I also bought one at BWV last year for about $10 or so. Refilled it (OFTEN;) ) at Boardwalk Bakery, pizza carry-out window, and the pool bar. It paid for itself several times over. :D

When I was at Old Key West last month, they offered me a choice of either buying a mug that had a Spring 2003 scene on it with Mickey and others at the beach, which was $10.95 and free refills, or a mug that had the DVC logo on it, which was like $8 or $9 I think, but refills cost like $1.75 they said. I don't know what's up with that, or whether they have those choices at the other resorts, but I went ahead and took the free refill option. I'll see what they have at BCV when I'm there in Sept.

When you buy these refill mugs can you take them back on future visits if you are stayign at the same place or do you have to rebuy them?

Reusing mugs varies from location to location. At BWV, the mug is the same as it has been for the last two years (at least). They do not tell you that it is a length-of-stay program, so we have reused ours on subsequent trips. (But, we forgot to pack them for our trip earlier this month and DW ended up buying a new one; we now have three of these.) At VB, they have a seasonal mug program, re-fillable for length of stay at the pool, Green Cabin Room, Shutters, and Sonya's. The mug itself changes from season to season, so it was different now than the one we purchased in January (which wouldn't matter anyhow, since we hadn't packed that one either). Even at $10.95, DW gets her money's worth during a single visit.

I love the mugs at VWL/WL - that are great - worth the money - the others I don't happen to like....my opinion.

I love OKW - but the mugs are horrible - you pay the money and expect it to work for a few months when you take it home - wrong it leaks - so does the Polyn - I have also had trouble with the BW - I haven't brought the one at the BC yet.

I have yet to have that problem with any of the mugs and I have one from 94. Not the refillable program, but, the same type they are using now. I just don't put them in the dishwasher.

10.95 buys a LOT of soda. I think it is great in the Disney resorts, but, I cannot justify it for myself at DVC.

I don't personally drink soda, and I would much rather buy a pound of organic breakfast blend coffee to brew in my DVC room and drink on my DVC balconey! With half & half from my DVC frig!

Besides, walking (staggering) to the refill station in the morning with bedhair and my refillable mug is anti-magic to myself and others! ;)

Now, if they'd come up with a refillable mug program for the Sam Adams on tap, I'd bite for sure. That's why we're bringing back our Yakoose mug this year!

I brought the old OKW mug - in 94 and yes they were pretty good - I put everything in the dishwasher - but the new refillable ones are horrible. they didn't even last the year...

I get the mug for one of my souvenior - I use them all the time at work and at home - my little touch of DVC.

I really like the VWL/WL - it has different setting and it closes very easily and tight -

We have refill mugs from back in 96 and through to 2001 and have never had any problems with any of them. We have mugs from all 3 All Star Resorts Dixie Coronado Boardwalk VWL plus some of the same style from in the parks. We have not had a single one leak or anything and my wifes parents have the same ones and they have not had any problems either dishwasher safe to my mom puts hers in there and it still seals perfectly.

I specifically noted last week that the signs at the Contemporary state that the mug is only good for the current stay. I'm sure you could cheat if they haven't changed the mug design, but you're supposed to buy another for future visits.

I assume the policy is the same throughout the World.

Yes, the policy is the same throughout the World and yes, you read the sign correctly (amazingly most don't see the sign or are selectively "blind" to it).

Ok, so you say that there are signs at the Contemporary. But what about say...Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon? Does it apply there too? Does every Hotel/Home have the same sign?

Every hotel has the same sign.
The water parks are different. You need to check on Deb's website for info on these.

Water park mugs are only good for ONE DAy. You pay $10 for a refillable mug. It has a bar code on it that activates the refill machine as many times as you want that day. On future days you pay $5 for another bar code sticker to reuse the mug. It's much harder to cheat with this system. You can use BB mugs at TL and vice versa.

You can keep reusing the mugs for years and years as long as they hold out.
