Refillable Mugs at DVC Resorts?

BCV and VWL use the BC and WL program. OKW doesn't really have one, refills are not free (at least that's how it was a while back). Not many places to get refills at OKW. Keep your refrigerator filled with sodas and you won't need the refillable mug. BWV has a mug, but you can only get it refilled at the pool bar, maybe the bakery and the Bellevue Lounge (think that is it). SSR may or may not, not sure.

Saratoga Springs does have a refillable mug program.

Yeah, they all have one (except Old Key West really). Sometimes it is hard to use it though because the villas aren't as close to the main building as the hotel rooms.

Yacht Club/Beach Club/Beach Club Villas all have the same mug. The easiest place to fill it is at the Beach Club Marketplace which is convenient to the villas. Closer for many villas than some rooms at BC.

We stayed at OKW in August and bought a refillable mug. You could get refills at Goods to Go (had to wait in line if it was busy) I think you could also get refills at the snack bar at Turtle Road pool (but it was closed while we were there so I can't be 100% sure)

Not sure why some said OKW doesn't have a refillable mug program ? They do. The mug is $11.99 and the refills are indeed free. You can get them refilled at Goods To Go, or Gurgling Suitcase.
We didn't find it any more difficult to use at OKW vs BWV or VWL when we stayed there. Some of the rooms at VWL are just the same distance to Roaring Forks as some of the rooms at OKW are to Goods To GO. We also had a bit of a hike to the cart and bakery at BWV when we stayed there.
Tinktatoo, I think the OKW snack bar at Turtle Pond is closed ? I believe I read this here on the boards. I know, sadly, it was closed in Aug when we were last there. Not sure why either.

At Saratoga Springs, you may refill your mugs at Artist Pallate or at the high rock springs pool bar. Both are self serve. :)

IMHO, the refillable mugs are not worth it when you have a frig in the unit. It just takes too long to get to the limited "refill" stations. And the mugs really don't hold all that much. Much easier to grab a can out of the frig.

For those who plan to spend a lot of time at the pool and drink a lot of soda, it may be worth it, but for the rest, my advice is to brew your own coffee and bring your own soda. It's less expensive and more convenient. :)

Best wishes -

Off topic a little but, we were just at OKW last week and the Turtle Shack was opened at Turtle Pond.

Even at DVC resorts the mugs can easily pay for themselves, but it depends on your habits. In general, we would fill the mug with hot chocolate every morning and a soda each evening as we were going to and from the bus--this worked at both BCV and OKW (we bought mugs both places). 5 drinks pays for the mug. During a 7 day stay, we filled the mugs 24 times by my count. More than paid for themselves without going out of our way (and we only filled the mugs at the designated resort when we were guests at that resort).

We had one at SSR and the poolside refills definitely made it worth it. In 1 or 2 afternoons we drank a lot of lemonade :)

It is also convenient at BCV for me. I go down sometime during the day to pick up the papers at the Marketplace and it is easy to get hot or ice tea then.
