Do they have the "free" refillable mugs at the AKL ?

Yes they do. Keep in mind that there are no straws because of the animals. The mugs are great, really worth it. Mara (food court) is really close to the pool so we used them while we were at the pool. Real easy.

When you say "free" that means unlimited refills after you pay the price for the mug(approx $10). It's a good deal if you are thirsty!

Do they look the same as when they opened last year?

kenman--I'm drinking water right now out of the one I got in December(just so you know I don't have a photographic memory) and it has "The Mara" with letters formed out of giraffes under a tree with green leaves and yellow spots. The other side has some sort of beast with a bird on his head and a sun to the right of him. The handle and lid are blue.

I'm not sure whether they look like they did when the resort opened - our first stay was last Nov/Dec. But there are two physical versions of mug. A large bottom version - the standard size that all the resorts seem to use - and a 'necked down' version that fits in an automobile cup-holder. They both hold the exact same amount of fluid.
