We're staying 4 nights at CSR and then 3 at ASMo consecutively. If we buy mugs when we first get there, will we have problems refilling when we're at Movies? I've read that the mugs are for the resort you bought them at, but it's the same trip and we're still staying at Disney. Doesn't seem fair if we'd be expected to buy new mugs for the last 3 days just because we changed resorts.

They are all the same mugs now, so no worries you can use them at both resorts. We did that on our recent stay and took them with us when we visited AKL and POP. No problem and don't let anyone on the boards tell you differently. You are using them for the length of your stay, you just happen to be paying Disney in two different reservations. Some people have to stay at one resort for a night or two because they can't get rooms at other resorts for the length of their stay, so don't stress one bit about it. Have a great trip!

When we were leaving on Magical Express on Sunday, the driver announced that we should save our mug and bring it back to any resort on future stays. I've never done that and have always purchased a new mug. So, what's the deal? Is he correct?

CSR does not sell the YOAMD mugs because their food locations are not owned by WDW, so you would have to purchase their logo mug and then at All Star Movies you would need to purchase the YOAMD mug.

CSR mugs are not YOMD. CSR restaurants aren't Disney-they are a private company. During our split stay, CSR/POR, I just decided to say no to the mugs, period. Didn't want or need 2 sets.

In reality, I didn't miss them! Personally, I think the theory of the mugs is probably better than the practicality. I kept a few cokes in the room frig, and I was perfectly happy.

The Magical Express driver was wrong. The mugs are good for the length of stay in which you purchased the mug.

Well that stinks, and frankly doesn't make sense to me. If it's a Disney resort and they accept the DDP, then why would they exclude the YOAMD mugs? Strange....

I agree it does not make sense, however if that's the rule then you either have to live with it or change from CSR to another WDW Resort which sells the YOAMD mugs so you can use them when you check into All Star Movies.

If it was my family I think I would decide to buy mugs at only 1 of the resorts.
I would choose the resort I thought my family would get best use out of them.

I have heard that it is not convient to refill a mug at the Pepper Market because there always seems to be a line of guests waiting to be seated and there really is not an easy way to bypass the guests. Also the food court is quite a ways from most of the rooms.

At the All Stars the beverage stations are in a cental area of the food court and near a door which leads to the main pool.

You could also just deside they are not worth the trouble. Since I started useing the dining plan and do not drink soda I do not even buy them anymore.

Have fun at Disney!:wizard:

Have there been reports of YOAMD mugs being refused service at CSR?

Minnie, I think your advice is great. There generally is a line at PepperMarket, and even though a guest has the "right" to bypass, in practice it's really awkward. Many of the folks in line have no idea of what you're trying to do. I was in the wait for a table line, and while I knew what the "mug guy" was heading for, the folks ahead of me were clueless and really annoyed. Lots of these people get up really early, work all morning, and get a short time to grab lunch before their afternoon meetings.
At All Stars there shouldn't be any problem at all. Grab your mug and fill it to your delight!

In the end if guests are being told they can not use the YOAMD mugs at Pepper Market, then they have the choice of either purchasing the CSR mug or not purchasing the mug there. Of course I am speaking if someone were to do a split stay and CSR would be their 2nd Resort, after staying at one where they purchased the YOAMD mugs.

No they are not. CSR has different mugs. The PM is not Disney runned so they still use the old style character mugs.

OOPS I didn't know that about CSR. Sorry I gave wrong information. I was under the impression that every resort had the YOAMD mugs.

i believe you can also fill the mugs at the siestas pool bar

Buying the mug at CSR was great for the sovenir factor and cool because it was still the old style resort mug. Unfortunately they didn't have the old 64 oz one, that's what I really wanted. :coffee: Siestas is on limited hours and the Pepper Market is a trek from most rooms. I DID NOT get my money out of the CSR mug, in comparison when staying at POFQ and Sports the mugs paid for themselves in the first 2 days, it was just that much easier to get to the food court.

If I stay at CSR again, I won't be buying the mug. It would just make more sense to do a grocery order from Garden Grocer and keep soda and water in the room.
