does swan/dolphin offer a refillable mug? i googled and could only find an older thread that answered the question. if not, can i purchase a refillable mug at bwi or bc/yc to use during my stay at the swan? i need my coffee and im one of the few people (in the entire world, perhaps) that loves nescafe.

No it doesn't. Sorry! But you could buy a refillable mug and walk over to the resorts on property and refill. It would be a pain... I'm with you, I LOVE that Nescafe. Have you stayed at Swan and Dolphin before? Can you switch resorts?? Just wondering....

They sell the mugs right there and don't ask for ID or anything, so sure, I figure you could buy one at BW. You'll be walking by there anyway, right? (right now it's the kiosk outside of BW Bakery for refills) Take it with you as you go to the parks, drink your coffee, put it in your backpack, get more on the way back...

Until/unless they actually put chips in/start using the technology they stopped testing back in late 2011, or until/unless they don't sell them right there at the registers, I figure that's allowed.

Now...you do know that the Nescafe is on its way out, right? Joffrey's is on its way in?

Yes, the S/D does have a refillable mug, available at Picabu's (lower level of the Dolphin). Or, take your own travel mug and fill it from the coffee maker in your room every morning. :coffee:

No--you can't buy a mug at a different resort and use it at the Swan/Dolphin...unless, again, you're filling it from the coffeemaker in your room.

Note-they now sell 2 different mugs-one for hot drinks, one for cold drinks. Not sure what the difference is in the mugs, but, you can't go down and grab coffee in your cold mug or cola in your hot mug.

As of this past weekend, Nescafe was still at AKL. I was under the impression that it was already on the way out. Oh well...

Love my S/D refillable mug!!! I love how they tell me every time I stay there to be sure to bring it back on my next visit!! And I do!!! But, sadly you can't use them at WDW resorts.

ooh interesting! My DS will be at the Swan in May for a convention. He would love to get the refillable mug (we always get them when we stay at Disney). Anyone have a pict of them? How much are they? Thanks for the info!

Hmmm what kind of coffee does swan/dolphin brew? I saw they have Starbucks in the rooms. If bwi is still serving Nescafé it's worth the walk for me! I figure that as long as I buy a cup at bwi it should be okay to refill there even though I'm not a guest there. I haven't tried the joffreys yet. When we were there in February I saw it offered at the little stand near the monorail in Epcot but did not try it. I am a big Starbucks fan so I'm excited about that partnership.

Thanks. Those do look alot different than the usual disney mugs. lol But he will be there for 5 days so will be worth it! From what I am understanding, the only place to refill is at the Dolphin?

I'm pretty sure it will be against the "rules" for you to buy a mug and use if you are not staying at the resort. You are only allowed to use the mugs until the end of your stay. By your logic someone who is local would be allowed to by a mug at a resort and use it whenever they want. If you really want Nescafé just buy a coffee at any Disney counter service.

I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but isn't Nescafe instant coffee that comes in a jar? Could you toss a jar in your suitcase, get hot water in the mug at the Swan, and mix up your own? Or if you don't want to bring a whole jar, just dump some in a ziploc bag?

Talking about the WDW mugs...they sell them *right there*. They do not ask for any credentials when you buy them. They are vague in wording; my lawyer-sister in law would have a field day with the vagueness of the wording. ("until the end of the stay"....what stay? where is the stay?) It isn't *my* logic that's in question, but Disney's, and their signage and actions. They say one thing when it comes to getting a mug with a dining package, and DO a totally different thing right in the food courts.

We stayed onsite during the testing of the chips, and during our 2 day stay at AS Sports I bought one. Wanted to try the coffee just once, and wanted a souvenir. Now of course the coffee wasn't part of the chip testing, that was just the machines with spigots but I barely drink soda anymore, so I couldn't/didn't fully test things out, but when I bought that mug at the counter, even during the testing phase, they didn't ask me if I was staying there (no I wasn't using my KTTW to pay, I used a credit card), they didn't ask me how long I was there, nothing. Told me the cost, I paid, I went. And that was during the *testing* phase.

This picture was taken Feb 2013 (not during the testing, but during our recent trip, because the vagueness of the wording cracked me up) at POFQ, I believe.

Disney makes their profit on the sale of the mug itself. I'm sure they'd be delighted to sell a mug to anyone who walked in and wanted to buy one. :)

It's not a 'usual Disney mug' simply because the Swan/Dolphin aren't Disney hotels. No, they aren't as pretty or 'magical' but you sure don't have any worries when you bring them back on subsequent trips!!!

We purchased a refillable mug yesterday upon arrival at the dolphin. I think it was $13? Maybe $15? My husband made thr purchase without me. We have used it for hot and cold drinks and no one has said a thing.... Just hi and have a great day :-). Oh and they have Starbucks which is wonderful!!! IMO the mugs are really nice. I kinda like it better than a Mickey mug from a disney resort...little more grown up looking :)

Do you know if your husband was asked which mug he wanted...hot or cold, or do they just give you a mug? I've never bought a mug at WDW because I don't drink soda etc. very much. I would consider buying one at the Dolphin because I plan on more resort time, but I would hate to have to choose between hot and cold drinks.
