Refillable Mug on Regular Dining Plan

I searched, but only found an answer for 2009.

We are staying at POR in January 2011. When we last stayed at POR in March 2010, we had the Quick Service Dining Plan. We liked it and really enjoyed using the refillable mugs, not only at the food court but also for mixing drinks in our room.

For our January trip, we want to do the Regular Dining Plan (1 TS, 1 QS, 1 Snack) so we can do more table service restaurants.

The brochure shows that the refillable mug is not included for 2011! Was it included in 2010? Anybody know why not?

I don't think the refillable mugs were ever on the regular dining plan, only the quick serve. We did the regular plan last year and didn't get a mug and we are doing it again this year and are not expecting to get a mug.

If you really like the mug you can buy one, I think it's about $15.

In 2010, only the QSDP and the DxDDP got the free refillable mug. DDP (the reg. plan) was not included.

It is the same for 2011. No refillable mug with DDP.

If you have QSDP or DxDDP then yes you get a free mug.

Why???? Who knows.

On a related question... What can you use the mug for? Just soft drinks? Can you get "free" juice with it? Coffee? Specialty coffees?

No juice, no milk. Coffee (probably not specialty coffee - the drink has to be available at the resort's refillable beverage station), tea (hot or iced), hot chocolate, soft drinks.

Not a super big deal for me... But not super child friendly, to not include milk or juice. I don't let my kids drink soft drinks.

At POFQ they also have Hi-C...which isn't the best drink for kids but better than soft drinks, I think it was only one flavor, fruit punch. Also, Minute Maid pomegranite lemonade which I really liked.

The fact that the mug isn't avaiable on the DDP is confusing to me. I think it's a better deal than with the QSDP. When you eat at the resort for CS, you get a drink anyway(refillable if you want) and 2 at breakfast. I think it should be available on all plans, but, it's not because the regular DDP is the most popular, and that would be a lot of people not buying them if they came with the plan.

I think it does have a lot to do with the fact that the basic dining plan is by far the most popular plan.

Not offering milk and juice in the mugs has nothing to do with child friendliness. Milk and juice cost more to provide than the items they do offer.

Where can you use the refillable mugs that are included on the QSDP? We are staying at Coronado Springs and debating getting the QSDP and was looking for clairificatrion on the specifics of mug usage. Can it only be used at the resort or throughout the parks?

Agreed! There is no Hi-C, either. And the lemonade is diet. I don't let my kid drink aspartame or sucralose.
