Refillable Cups:Deluxe Dining Plan?Now Generic?

Perhaps I misunderstand, but are resort refillable cups now generic..that is all are or will be the same and not resort specific?

Can refillable mugs be used now at any Disney Resort? Even though I read on this board that they are now generic, a few different resorts, Poly to name one said that each resort has its own and has to only be used at one resort.

Normally the refillable mugs are resort specific, but with the theme "Year of a Million Dreams" all the resorts have the same themed mug (at least that's how it was last summer--I'm pretty sure I read on here that WDW is still using the same mugs as last year). We stayed at 2 resorts last year: Pop and Saratoga...we bought the YOAMD mugs at Pop and used them at Saratoga too Perhaps with the next theme, the resorts will go back to specific mugs...I think I like those better...we have quite a collection at home I hope I helped you a little bit

Strange though, I just called a resort and they said they each have their own and you cannot refill at other resorts???????

We were at the Poly in May and they only had the "generic" YOAMD mugs Last year the mugs were the same "generic" YOAMD mug with 2007 on them. I believe they came out in Jan./ Feb. of 07 and over the course of a month or so, all resorts with the exception of CSR were and are selling them.

If you were doing a split stay there is nothing wrong with buying at one resort and using at your next resort during that same stay. Just as a PP mentioned. Not sure what the CM at Poly was talking about. Actually, you may have not even spoken to someone who is actually at the Poly, I believe all the calls are sent to a central office. I think that is true even when you call from your room.

No the mugs use to havee the year in 2007 when they first went to these mugs now they no longer have the year! they have Chip n Dale Minnie, Mickey the castle and daisy, goofy, pluto and donald. And they say Walt Disney World Where Dreams Come True. If I can get it with my new camera I will take a pic and upload it here for you from 2007! And by the handle it also says Free refills available at our Resort Beverage Islands until the end of the stay in which the mug was purchased. ( Which would lead you to believe that means abiliyl to be used at all resorts thru stay which purchased! except csr as thay are contracted out.)

Yes unless they change them by them but I am going in august so I can let you know the end of august that is! But so far from what Ive been hearing these are the mugs minus the year! They did have ones with silver and blue handles also we had 2 silver handles and 2 blue handles and 2 black handles as there were 6 of us! So yes this is the Generic mug you should see!

Convenient during length of stay....Is there a bar code system of something to scan the cup?

They are exactly the same as last year without the year on them.

No barcodes at the resorts - they have that for the water parks though, where you can get a refillable mug good for one day.
