Refillable cup at the parks?

In reference to what is "stated" on the cup, my plasticky butterbeer mug does not say anything about refills, free or discounted or otherwise. It just says "Butterbeer" on it. (Well, that plus a warning on the base about not being microwavable or dishwasher-able.) I remember being surprised to find out that the mug could be refilled with soda on the cheap just about anyplace in both parks. On top of that, my recollection is that the AP discount applies to the already discounted refills! :thumbsup2

Yup as long as its not being refilled at a cart you get your ap discount too

I learned on these boards before my last trip that Sea World and Busch Gardens also accept these same red Universal refillable cups for the inexpensive refills. We used them at all four parks (US, IOA, SW and BG) and maybe even Aquatica. It's worth carrying them around in a backpack for us for the money savings. No one even batted an eye when we used them. I'm not one to "cheat" the system, and never brought back a refillable mug to Disney because they clearly don't allow that. But they clearly do allow using these red cups at all of the parks I mentioned.

When I asked about this on the Sea World forum, I was told this was NOT true - has something changed?

Lol there just isn't any consistency. When I booked our US package and asked the TM about it she basically said just try and see if you get away with it. Um okay, lol, I guess that is what we will do. Pretty weird.

Now I do have a question.... I have a refillable mug from Universal Hollywood (a Popeye mug XD ). Will they honor that at Universal Orlando as well? Just wondering if anyone has tried.
