Refillable Beer Mug???

I have heard of the refillable soda cup, but one of the threads I just read mentioned refillable beer mug. How much does that cost? Where do you purchase it? I know DH could get his money's worth.

The beer mug is not "refillable" in the sense that the soda mug is. The mug costs $10 and holds 22 oz. of beer. When you get it filled, you pay for the standard 16 oz. beer, so you get an extra 6 oz. of beer each time. You can get it at most of the bars on board. Actually, they'll probably push it on you if you order a beer on the first day of the cruise.

I did the math once, and I think it worked out that if you buy 10 domestic beers or 8 "premium" beers, then the mug pays for itself. The downside is that it's made of glass and is pretty heavy, and lugging around the ship all the time is kind of a pain. It also doesn't fit in the cup holders in the seats of the Walt Disney Theatre. We bought them on our first cruise, but haven't bothered since.

I think it is $30.00 but you don't get free refills, the refills are at a dscounted price. Maybe like a 22oz beer for a 12oz price....I am not real sure. If you go to Daves site www.DCLtribute.com, he has a list of navigators up there and on the Navigators it gives you the details of the Beer program.

From what I can recall, the beer mug is nice. It is heavy glass with the DCL logo on it.

You can purchase a 22oz mug for $9.99 and then get refills for the price of a 16oz which range from $3.25 to $4.00 .... Andy

Sounds like it's still cheaper to bring our own. If we do bring our own, doe sit need to be in a plastic cup to carry out of our room or can we take cans? I doubt we'll lug bottled beer although I'd prefer that.

We usually bring a case with us and put it in a soft sided cooler and take onboard as carry on and then fill the cooler with ice once we get to our room and then the host/hostess will refill the cooler twice a day to keep cold .... you can drink beer out of the can while walking around the ship ......
