Referral Question

My sister bought DVC while in WDW in March. She gave my name as a referral. I got a letter that said thank you for the referral but my sister said they told her I would get $200. When do you get that. Do they send you another letter or do I have to call or something? Not sure how this works.

Yea it takes a few months to work though the system. I had some friends buy in Nov, and got the letter almost before we got home. But the gift took about 3 months.

I know some of it is the sale has to close. Then I think they only process the gift letters in a batch. At that point you get a certificate, which has several $200 rewards on it, you can get like Disney Dollars, A pre paid visa, or a credit against your dues, there might be one other. Then you have to send the certificate back with which one you want. Then it takes another few weeks for them to process it.

March I wouldn't expect to see anything before May/June. But I would say since you got the first letter, that means it's all linked with your account correctly.

I believe there is also a way to request which form of a reward you would like through the member services website.

FWIW, I think there are some states that prohibit the paying of a reward for the referral, as it is considered a form of commission. I think Texas, where I live, is one of those states. You might check to see if your states allows you to received referral rewards.

It will show up on your member website as soon as the contract closes. You will then be given the options for your reward.
