After reading about the postcards on this site, I had called disney because I never received any to offer to my friends. We are taking our 2nd Magic Cruise on 5/11/02 with 3 other families that have never cruised Disney before. I inquired about the postcards and was told that they can't have the $50.00 onboard credit because they have the Spring Magic pricing for their trip. Is there anyone that was able to combine both? I really think that is unfair.

Darwin,
Maybe Disney is giving u a hard time and saying that your friends can't have the credit for first time cruisers because there is 3 credits of $50 they would have to give. Thats what I think, because what difference does it make if its STM or not, an enticement to get 1st timers to cruise on Disney shouldn't matter on the price they pay.

Disney club offers $50.00 onboard credit for "spring time magic" sailings (I think your sailing qualifies). If you don't have DC membership, the annual membership costs $39.95 (I believe they are still offering 20% discount to entertainment members). It's something to consider (DC also qualifies for discount on multi-days at WDW).

That is for the Disney Club membership! This was offered to the Castaway Club members to give to first time cruisers. $50.00 onboard credit with the postcard without buying a membership. If they booked the cruise they would receive the onboard credit. Disney is saying they won't give the $50.00 onboard credit if they got a Spring magic rate.

Yes I understand you were talking about the CC benefit (referral for your friends). I'm just offering an alternative if DCL does deny your referral. Anyhow, by spending $40.00 to recieve a $50.00 onboard credit is not a bad alternative.

Those postcards I thought stated that they are not combinable with all packages or something to those terms...So you would have to contact DCL to see what they can be combined to and Springtime Magic is a large discount from the regular fare, so that does sound like it is true.

I had the same problem. A wonderful woman from these boards sent me the postcard for the $50 credit, but Disney wouldn't let me use it because I was already using the "Kids Fly Free" promotion. So my parents were able to use the postcard because they didn't have any special rate other than early booking.

I had the same problem when I tried to buy an AmEx promotion through our platinum card. Because of the "Kids Fly Free" promotion, I was not allowed to buy the AmEx package.

Disney seems to be very strict about not combining promotions.

Liza is correct. The first time cruise $50 onboard credit postcards do state on them that they are not combinable with other promotions, hence the Springtime Magic would not be combinable with it.
